The dynamic range isn't quite as good as some of the other Sony cameras but it's good and adequate for my purposes

There are other Sony and non-Sony cameras that have more dynamic range, but honestly, even for portraits or family sessions where there are moving elements, this camera can grab some shots that others can't

ISO range enough not to explode noise all over, dual slot, bigger & better design, Ethernet/wifi/Bluetooth, looks durable too

So then you need to switch to "Flexible-Spot Focus" which helps, but...not enough

When you are in Flexible-Spot focus, this simulates a Nikon center focus point, but the A9 is FAR, FAR less accurate and speedy when compared to my Nikon

, so I have now fired off another 5,000 pictures and I have mastered every available feature of this camera and modified every button to my liking, including the awesome 'focus hold' button on the lens itself, which I discovered can be made to do whatever you want

it feels of high quality, but in terms of all weather sealing, etc. is not comparable to the pro bodies of the competition (e.g. the covers of memory cards and ports are not weather sealed).In conclusion: The a9 is a speed monster, and photographers who want this will appreciate the a9’s main feature

The transfer can take quite some time with some dozens of pictures, especially with Jpeg (with raw it goes faster - that is probably owed to the software routines of the software, while raw is forwarded without processing), and it sucks that not even the menu is accessible

The menu is better than the a7r’s, but still confusing (a freely programmable slot is now helpful to bring together the most important functions)

The menus have been improved, and almost everything feels "right" when you get it out of the box

The menu and navigation has been improved quite well and responsive, loved the new buttons and dials

One has to assume that most of what you see in the A9 will, indeed, be in the upcoming A7III, especially the AF algorithms, new menu structure and speed/responsiveness refinements as well as the bigger battery
