One of the biggest reasons for me to buy this camera was the fully articulating touch screen, and it is superb

Otherwise, this is the best video camera you can get with an articulating screen and 4k

I absolutely love this light weight and compact camera body that products some of they highest 4k quality image I have seen in a camera this size

4k video, light weight, easy to use, was going to get a Nikon

The good grip, light weight, high performance and low pricing make it a very appealing choice.

And for travel, I love its form factor and light weight

Ideal indoor lighting results in grainy, choppy video footage.

I use the camera primarily for video, and while it does a great job, the super light feeling of the camera while filming can be aggravating

Better low light too (still pretty hopeless compared to most others).

The excellent EVF is similar to the one in the GH4, the grip is almost as good, the external controls (both buttons and knobs) are unusually numerous and useful, and the menus are similar to, and consistent with, those of the other models in the line

A very small nitpick, but the EVF is great but frustrating

I wanted to upgrade from the GH2, and I thought the G6 was flawed in many respects (lack of physical AF/MF switch, poor EVF implementation, no constant preview in manual photo mode, lack of higher bitrates).After using the G7 for about a week on and off

and I often adjust exposure-bias as I shoot, using the excellent EVF as a guide), and it required a button-push to access this on the G7 (the G5/6 and GH4 can be left with the rear thumb-wheel needing only to be moved in order to adjust exposure bias)

* Pros / Upgrade over past generation:- Improved EVF on par with GH4 which is so welcome as the G6 was such a lackluster on this aspect

Awesome product but very steep learning curve needs serious commitment by consumers to benefit from this camera

I'm not sure if the product I received is defective, because I've read nothing but rave reviews about the G7, but all in all I'm extremely disappointed with the camera I received.

If you're looking for an inexpensive 4K camera that can shoot great video and stunning pictures, look no further than the G7.

The pictures it takes are lovely and the JPEGs can be tweaked in the camera to your liking

At this point I've been taking a variety of pictures in "auto" mode to see how it performs and very few pictures have been blurry.

While this is definitely a camera that favors video, pictures look great on this as well

The headline feature 4K video is top notch although you have limited manual controls for video recording.

Although I loved the features, I am not impressed by the quality of the camera

Overall picture quality was great, but not enough features compared to a DSLR.

For me the sensor size is another nice but overrated feature that other brands use to sell and justify their costs along with other lousy features but almost never a real IQ

I am still discovering great new features that make this camera even better

The kit lens is a great starter lens, but with a camera this good you'll probably want to upgrade soon!

The lens is a nice and compact, providing plenty of field of view.

The included 14-42mm kit lens is actually quite impressive for a cheap kit lens

So after doing a ton of searching around, I found the Power Adapter that worked for the G7 (since the G6 version didn't work for people), and I highly recommend it for anyone that wants to do long time lapses:http://amzn.to/24CTdzXRight now I'm still using the 14-42mm Kit Lens, and it's been great, but there are times I wish I would have just gotten the more expensive 14-140mm kit lens instead

A nice, compact lens that zoomed to 80 or 100mm would be just about right.

( i live in the caribbean), i wish it had slow motion like the GH4 but for now am very pleased.

Especially being able to record 1080p 60fps really brings out more creativity for slow motion shots

I value the G5 for its sharp EVF (the one on the G6 has better color and contrast, but it is not as sharp), its miniscule size and weight, its very good external controls and menus, and the excellence of its stills and video (although the G5, unlike the G6, has no external mic input, and it is without focus-peaking).The G7 is a nice combination of the good qualities of both the G5/6 and the GH4, at a lower price in size, weight, and cost compared with the GH4 - although it is without weather-sealing and high data-rate and slow-motion 1080 video options (but it does have 100Mbps 4K-24/30P video plus “4K-Photo” options)
