it's compact, lightweight size (2 oz lighter than the a6000), may still be appealing to those who don't feel like always lugging around a big DSLR.

I felt the camera was a nice size and not cumbersome to carry around my neck it in my purse

She does vlogging and it is perfect for this plus the right size for traveling.

this person really knows how to put a camera to work.anyway so Taking high quality photos has never been so great and colorful in the day and the night, it has a lot of feature that would keep your causal photographer busy, the Zoom and manual focus is wonderful

sometimes I end up fighting with the auto-focus to get the right focus point, supposedly there is a way to 'nudge' it or make fine adjustments, but I haven't figured out how to use it, I mostly just keep it set to center-focus instead, but that does make certain framing situations more difficult (e.g. off-center subjects, or multiple subjects not in the center of the frame)- the built-in flash seems pretty horrible, and does not seem to be adjustable (you can't aim it)In

The flip up screen allows me to make sure the lighting, angles and the focus is right

Love all of the features & especially the screen that flips up

Tilting is nice but does not have the same flexibility of the canon articulated screen

Just get a nice loupe, and enjoy the excellent screen on the a5100.

Great for vlogging and definitely love the selfie screen

I had a NEX for years - it stood the test of time and took good shots

I took some great shots with this camera when it worked.

It's easy to use, takes great shots, is light and fits anywhere

This camera gets beautiful low light shots and has a very cinematic look.

It's also just a great point and shoot camera for day to day use

Decided it was time for an upgrade, I purchased the a5100 because of the similar sleek/clean look

Appearance is very good-looking, very suitable for girls to use, but the camera time cannot too long, can connect to the cell phone to send photos is very convenient

I would recommend this camera if your looking for something between a little point & shoot camera and a professional level camera.

I am returning this camera (which is a very nice looking camera) and repurchasing one with a lense

-it over heats within 10 minutes of use, even if its on/off usage.-it will tell me my memory card needs to be recovered in the middle of filming, so i do as the camera says and loose all my video/pictures

running).Personally, I never had a need for the WIFI support aka "Instant sharing via smartphone with Wi-Fi® and NFC1", however this is my wives favorite feature.

My favorite feature is how easily I can transfer the photos to my iphone via the wi-fi feature

Easy to use, wonderful pictures, love the wifi feature to load the pictures on my phone.

I am baffled why this feature is not in the camera and even more confused why it hasn't been fixed
