but I have used the Panasonic Leica lenses which allowed them to be at least mentioned with my Nikon set-upAction photography - The GH4 features a fast shutter speed so teamed with the right lens it could be ok
If I was going to recommend just ONE lens for the GH4 it would be the Panny 12-35
I need to emphasize that having the right lens on the GH4 is critical
The standard Panasonic lens work very well, but the 45mm Leica macro is in a league by itself.
The OIS doesn't work very well on 4K, even with the nice 12-35mm lens
Still, as long as you understand its limitations and small quirks, this camera is the absolute best value you can find for the money as far as video cameras right now
Great combination of features with especially good video options; great user interface; a terrific value
It's difficult to overstate the difference in value this camera represents over previous versions, which were themselves great values for the video capabilities.
You can NOT find a better value (bang-for-buck) on the market today.
But with the low price, this is easily 5 stars, and a great value- Low lighting
I purchase a Panasonic lens for this camera, and it has great image quality, fast focus, and built-in stabilization
f2.8 ****Panasonic Leica 25mm F/1.4 - Fantastic for everything - probably my main lens for videoPanasonic Leica 42.5 F/1.2 - Fantastic for everything
Auto focus is basically instantaneous on the Panasonic 25mm f/1.4 which is the fastest focusing lens I own
Hopefully, they will have this problem solved with the GH5.Pros- Pull 8mp stills from 30fps 4K video!- Fastest real world auto focus I have used in both bright and
so if you want to shoot from a crane or bucket truck or remote control vehicle, you can, and retain recording control as well as focus.
I purchase a Panasonic lens for this camera, and it has great image quality, fast focus, and built-in stabilization
The superior quality versus return on investment just can't be matched
Camera has been completely troublefree shooting 4K full time using a SanDisk 32GB U3 memory card - yep the expensive and top quality $125 card.
yes this camera can produce amazing photos as well.--Overall get this camera if your doing video and want amazing quality because this GH4 can produce some excellent professional footage
I originally bought a Sony a99 to do video with since it seemed set up to do good video production but the camera is crippled with a poor codec, line skipping and a generally mediocre image quality (in video, the stills are great)
This paired with some good lenses will result in some fantastic footage
Even footage in 1080 still looks great as well as capturing slow motion footage is one of the coolest features this camera can produce
I have grown very fond of the GH4 as I am now able to consistently get sharp, stable 4K footage and lively yet realistic colors.

Other Observations:So you wanted a GH4 with v-log to get amazing footage
and I probably use my AX100 more often as the low light is not good at all
Low light, sadly is weakness
Event photographers, can "video" their photos using LED lighting and then pull the still when everyone's eyes are open
the shutter speed of 8000th of a second allows you to shoot the with the aperture wide open even in bright light.
It will struggle a bit in low light situations (the noise will begin to pop out) but with proper lighting the GH4 essentially turns you video footage into a rolling high quality photograph
Battery life is awesome when shooting 4K. Very impressedCons
You also have audio controls, focus peaking, zebras, many different color profiles, just about everything I need make shooting on this camera feel more like a video camera.
The learning curve for shooting proper 4K can be a little steep with this camera at
Working in concert with the focus peaking makes manual shooting like I prefer top notch.
For example, you can have a nice medium shot; and punch in for that emotional close up (200%) without any loss of resolution

I am a former owner of one and that camera will look more filmic right out of the box with a beautiful image
This is a fun camera to shoot with and I have gotten great images out of it
I've put some very old and very new lenses on this and had no trouble achieving great images with anything
I've had the camera for three days, have shot over 1,000 still images and tested the video in both 2K and 4k and everything about the camera exceeds my expectations
Great camera for video, good features for time lapse, and decent for photos
I've LOVED the in-camera level, and the ability to transform time lapses into 4K video clips right in the camera
Peaking, zebras, built-in EVF, the ability to accept nearly any lens made, WiFi monitor and control, built-in time lapse and HDR, 96 fps in 1080, etc., etc
I'm still having trouble getting the time lapse to work and trying to understand how the slow motion at 96fps work
Love this camera, focus peaking, zebras, vlog, time lapse, and the 4k
