Great in repeater mode, 14 mile range in point to point (2 units) easy setup, well constructed, flawless performance
This unit solved the problem of low signal in my shop, which is 100 yds away from my house
As for the downsides: the firmware lacks a few valuable features such as captive portal functionality and hostname configuration, the wired ports are only 10/100Base-T, and troubleshooting usually boils down to performing a factory reset and trying again

Te device works great most of the time, except during heavy rain or snow, then it will lose connection to the router, have 2, but 1 shares internet to switch, other shares WI-FI to the yard in the woods away from the lake
No problems have been noted in maintaining a solid connection
I first tried a cheaper extender and it barely works but it loses connection often.
Took a little fiddling to get it working and a decent connection.

At this time I am not satisfied with TP-LINK's tech support.
The signal is sufficient to give me about 30mb/s -- enough to stream HD on Youtube without a problem

I had to call tech support to help me set it up correctly
For over two weeks shows an "authentication error"; the fix was uncheck the "maxstream", then phones and PCs got connected, but signal was very weak and both rokus can't get connected.(tech support told me about turn off Maxstream, but also recommended leave the channel selector on auto). The solution was set it on channel 11, then signal improved and rokus connected.

it is also highly misleading as it is constrained by the FCC guidelines for how much power it can put out by federal law
Excellent software in it to manage it for this purpose.

its good product wifi range is good features are very easy to use
Great features and even some professional features that you would would normally see on really expensive equipment.

The instructions are just okay: I had to figure out for myself how to correctly do the static IP config required for this device's initial setup
The firmware is too stupid to set a dynamic IP when plugged in and must be directly accessed the first time around
Range isn't as great as I though it would be
Directions out of the box were spot on (even pictures of how to set your static ip to do the initial configuration, my mom would have been able to do it!).
Setup took about an hour with most of it trying to figure out how to assign a static IP address to my laptop and not including "http://" in front of the IP address
