All in all, if I had to do it again, I'd probably look for a faster model, now that I've had the experience with this one.

It makes great labels but being the 'cost effective' model it has limited sizes, fonts, etc, available.

We bought THIS model because the slightly older model did so well and never had any battery life problems.

The previous model was great, worked for 10 years, but I've wasted so much money and time on this machine that I'm done with Brother labelers.

If you get it again, first clean the contacts and if you still get it, then maybe it's time to change the batteries out

I haven't had to change mine yet since I cleaned the contacts, and I have been using this thing a LOT.Good luck and enjoy your labeler!

Get a Q-tip and some rubbing alcohol and wipe clean all the battery contacts in the battery compartment, even though it probably doesn't appear to be dirty

I had a Brother P-Touch Home & Hobby labeler that worked quite well for years.

A great label maker and my little sister loves it and uses it every day

The Epson LabelWorks is a awesome label maker with all types of tapes offered (iron on, glow in the dark, etc..) but the cost of the basic tape is around $18 and the Brother M tapes are all under $10, costing around $7 to $9 from my searches

Lets me set up the label but only sputters and moves the label out of the printer a fraction of an inch.

The thing always works, despite humidity, freezing temperatures, dust and dog hair, repeatedly being dropped, lack of electricity

only negative thing about this product is that it's easy enough that my 5 year old knows how to use it and has labeled enough stuff that I had to buy new tape for it
