Would have liked the LCD to be able to flip up - but I am willing to trade that convenience for the super-compact size of this camera.

I like the small size, makes it easy to carry or put in my pocket.

I definitely like the size and weight of this camera which was a pre-requisite.

In daylight it is very hard to get a precise idea of the finished shot with just a display.

The better idea is to set the ISO to the lowest possible setting to reduce noise on a bright day for the best clarity.

The touch screen responsive such a great idea where once I was limited to pressing buttons - and, it supports gestures like pinch to zoom and touch to focus.

The camera is small (it can literally fit in my front pocket) and the large 3” touchscreen is relatively intuitive (the camera has a limited amount of buttons)

This camera by spec Is a lesser model to these competitors (all have 1 inch sensors which I wanted for superior low light shots), but they also cost 150 to 400 dollars more

Automatic White Balance was fine outdoors but indoors under LED lighting it had a difficult time.

My full DSLR kit weight makes me want to carry a lighter DSLR kit, still having a camera bag makes me want to carry this pocketable camera, the weight and bulk in my pocket makes me want to just use my phone's camera, and my phone's camera lacks enough low light and zoom performance to make me miss the capabilities of my full DSLR kit.

For such a great travel camera, it really should have a 24mm

The G9 has been taking good pictures, particularly in low light which is a pretty common requirement.

It takes pictures pretty much like my other Canons, except I don't like the location of the video button & often wind up taking videos by accident!This camera doesn't come with a cord to connect with my computer.

I use photo tools to add the date/time stamp and reduce the picture size by 40-45% without loosing any picture quality

Battery life not so good, but the quality of the camera is worth buying and a spare battery.

I can transfer the excellent quality pictures to my phone while I'm at the beach rather than waiting until I have access to a computer!

It's awesome the quality of pictures this little camera can produce

you don't like the quality you get from your phone photos.

But if you are looking for a high quality camera that blows any smartphone camera out of the water, this was my favorite purchase from 2017

Its touch screens work well (and after 5 years of dealing with Nikon, Lumix, and especially Olympus menus, it was a relief to return to Canon's always intuitive menus

But as with other cameras, the touch screen works great so this might not be as big of a deal as it seems

Touch screen is pretty intuitive, I sometimes found myself accidentally changing the image size I wanted without realizing it, but I recently found you can lock the touch screen panel to avoid that

The most useful software Canon provides is the RAW developing to bypass a lot of the dysfunctional automatic camera settings.

Once again, Canon cripples this functionality to force you to obtain an on-line account, transfer the images to Canon's website after forcing you to agree to all kinds of stipulations about your photographs and agreeing to let them delete photographs they don't like.

I'll gladly upgrade this review if the seller or Amazon sends me the correct Canon battery and the camera turns out to work well.

The Canon PowerShot G9 X Mark II is the updated version of Canon’s G9 X “entry level” premium compact camera

The Canon is very easy to stow and go, always handy when I want to shoot something

(4.2X), tiltable screen, 3X brighter lens at zoomed range (same at wide range)Con's: same as G9X camera, also $250

The lens would not fully retract when the power button was pressed again.

Great Lens, narrower zoom range than some, but excellent for normal use

The faster lens would be better for sports or low light performance.

The lens' weak point (at least on my camera) is at the widest setting (10.2mm) in the mid apertures, around f5.0 and f5.6.

One of the great features is combination AF+MF which allows you to autofocus then tweak in for perfect sharp focus.

So far so good lacks a few features but took some amazing photos on my last trip to Zion National Park.

Another annoying feature is that the camera takes 1-2 secs to save each photo, unless you're shooting in continuous mode, which takes several photos per second but takes even longer to save them

This camera has lots of great features, but many of them are not fully implemented

More than a casual photographer needs, but an experienced SLR photographer will enjoy the advanced features in a compact form.
