Reviews around buy (5.00 of 5)

  • Manufactured in China, it exhibits poor quality in many regards, a fair buy for the price but really not anything more than a child's amusement just starting out to learn to play the violin
  • From her reaction, I believe that this voilin is a great buy.
  • A great buy for a learner or someone looking for something to mess around with
  • you get a lot for the money and the violin sounds pretty sweet with distortion through my peavey.it does however create a lot of feedback without a gate.for a beginner this is a great buy.

Reviews around case (4.60 of 5)

  • Its paint job is nice, good sound quality, comes with rosin, is fairly light, and a neat case
  • First, the instrument looks beautiful and comes with everything you need safe and sound in it's own case
  • The case it comes with is wonderful, the shoulder clip does it's job well, and the pickup on the violin is nice and clear, and it's nice having volume and tone control slider knobs
  • The case for this instrument is nice and overall it looks good and is a good value for someone starting out
  • The case is roomy and I can store my Kun shoulder rest with the violin with no problem.

Reviews around tone (4.49 of 5)

  • The musical tone seems very nice and after an hour or so the strings stayed in perfect tune for days on end.
  • It has a surprisingly good tone quality when played, although the strings that are on the instrument are most likely an off brand and unravel quickly on first tuning.
  • The E string broke after a few plucks
  • I bought it for a garage band and everyone said the tone and sound was very good
  • The tone is nice and warm when not plugged in and it sounds great when plugged in

Reviews around tuner (4.45 of 5)

  • when we got the violin it had problems with the fine tuners and the strings and ultimately had to have them replaced , We were not the happiestcustomers that we could have been .
  • I haven't had to use the pegs much and can just use the fine tuners
  • The E string broke after a few plucks
  • Apparently the person who said that did not use the fine tuners
  • Once I figured out how to tune it, (fine tuners at the bottom of the strings) it was easy to begin to learn to play by just watching some Youtube vids.

Reviews around product (4.40 of 5)

  • Was initially really upset with the purchase thinking that the whole product must be faulty but on closer inspection I found that the rest of the violin was in good shape but the strings seemed to be thinly rolled pieces of aluminum foil
  • Great product, wish I knew someone else who plays I would buy more!!!!!
  • It is a very beautiful product and I will be using it once it gets fixed
  • Got all excited when I saw the case, which appeared to be nice, opened the case being optimistic and excited that the product would be equally as good, then BOOMB

Reviews around value (4.16 of 5)

  • Great value based on the quality, price and the fact that it is both acoustic and electric
  • The case for this instrument is nice and overall it looks good and is a good value for someone starting out
  • The E string broke after a few plucks
  • For a little over $100 I think this violin is a pretty good value and sound can be improved by purchasing some extras

Reviews around starter (4.03 of 5)

  • It doesn't sound like a high end or even mid range violin, but it's a good starter instrument
  • I am very happy with, a nice starter violin, also has a strong drive for the electrical component, my amplifier picked it up very strongly, it is prone to feedback, which is a fault of the pickups, however most instruments are prone to Feedback these days, I think the only fix for that would be to get an anti feedback pedal or replace the pickups
  • The E string broke after a few plucks
  • Amazon sells a really good one, the Everest EZ, for around $14.My bet is that their regular acoustic violins are similar in quality and would make a good starter violin for a student at around $100

Reviews around sound (3.81 of 5)

  • After the preamp died after a couple of years, we tried other direct boxes, but got a very shrill sound.
  • The sound is pretty good except for the A string has a bit of a hum for some reason
  • At 6 months in I went to a violin shop, heard how much better expensive instruments sounded and bought a $700 violin.
  • We never were able to get rid of a hum sound coming through our PA.
  • The sound is amazing and came with almost everything I could need, except an extra set of strings.

Reviews around instrument (3.71 of 5)

  • Once it's tuned, then it's a pretty good practice instrument
  • First, the instrument looks beautiful and comes with everything you need safe and sound in it's own case
  • We select this item to learn, practice and may be so good instrument to play in the future
  • It doesn't sound like a high end or even mid range violin, but it's a good starter instrument
  • This is a really beautiful instrument with a good sound

Reviews around bow (3.40 of 5)

  • With this violin I also purchased a better shoulder rest, a better bow and rosin, a good set of strings, and had the bridge and nut repaired.
  • I went ahead and bought a new, higher quality set of strings, as well as a different bow, and better rosin
  • I have another very expensive bow (I bought this violin to take to work to practice on breaks) and the violin sang well
  • The sound quality is pretty good in general, the bow is decent for the pricing as well
  • If you want to buy a good bow to use with this violin, you have to try one in person at a music store to find the right one for you

Reviews around peg (1.00 of 5)

  • A few criticisms: the pegs aren't all the same size, and one of them has a horrible time holding a tune due to being too small for the hole
  • I replaced 2 of the 4 strings with D'Addario preludes when I accidentally broke them by using the wrong peg for the wrong string and I actually prefer the sound of the stock strings, they seem more articulate
