These Sennheiser Urbanite XL are well-designed, dynamic-sounding Bluetooth headphones that works well with a lot of music -- but not quite everything
The cord is about four feet in length, so it's definitely aimed for someone sitting next to a device, but here's where the smart design comes into play
Sennheiser Urbanite XL Wireless is a well-designed, comfortable over-ear wireless headphone that offers exciting, dynamic sound with quality bass
I would buy these first for the quality of sound, materials and smart design before the Apple device support
I still think it's a fun set of headphones for this price: the sound is decent at worst, and the design is stellar
Sound so far seems to be well balanced, with crisp mids and highs.
although not neutral/for critical listening (as most senns are known for), they do provide a well balanced sound with slight emphasis on the bass (but not at exaggerated levels).
and they seem very durable and very well balanced on the head.
Even when compared with my other Sennheiser headphones, the sound stage is eminently more balanced--the lows robust, and the mid-range and highs crystal clear
The sound is overall well-balanced, and the mid and high-frequency response is very good, with no noticeable distortion; although the bass is very punchy, you can still make out the mid and high-frequencies with no problem.
Incidentally, those ear pads are replaceable which is a huge bonus as any material will deteriorate over time, especially after regular contact with corrosive perspiration on the face
The ATH M50x is supposed to have much more comfortable ear pads then the original ATH M50's
The padding is soft enough, and the size makes it so that the weight and pressure from the headphones are more evenly distributed
The only thing I would mention is that while the ear pieces are nicely padded and comfortable, after an hour or so it felt like the pads were pushing into my head
Aluminum sliders make them adjustable so you can find the perfect, cozy fit for your head
Pretty fuzzy low end, and very loose fit
These headphones feel solid and the adjustable ear covers help make them a great fit
Still not sure that I love the fit over my ear, they don't seem quite as comfortable as my old Bose headphones, but I'm going to give them a few days of usage before I make a final assessment
The fit of these over-the-ear headphones is comfortable - but the round
These headphones bump, and have better clarity in the mids and highs than Beats
The only concern I'd like to add right now is that, while I still love the flat aesthetic of the cord, I do find that it feels stiff and will sit in strange positions that can get fumble-y
Indeed, the noise cancellation abilities as well as the clarity of the full range speakers contribute to my music sounding better than ever
Let me just say that I love them, the clarity, the bass, the built quality, the looks, and comfort are amazing
I did notice (and scoff) that Sennheiser is also trying to appeal to the type of silly young people that walk around shut out from the world all day by showing how they overextended themselves on a (fools only) status symbol.
Sennheiser were ALMOST there with this pair, still happy with my purchase.
Hopefully Sennheiser can make a staple comfort out of it, like the HD6XX.Disclaimer: Unless you are spending serious dough, a serious drop of expectation must be expected when using a sealed headphone next to any open headphone's.
I read the reviews before I purchased, and knew about the left headphone not working for others, but I had assumed that Sennheiser had corrected the issue
It's my understanding that the difference is really in the cables and that later Sennheiser will offer interchangeable cables, though not available at the time of this review
(To avoid misunderstanding also, these are not noise canceling headphones, though the closed, oversized ear cups do isolate most outside noise.)These headphones seem clearly designed to compete with the wildly successful Dr. Dre, Beats, recently acquired by Apple, but their acoustic properties are very different
But, the way they cup over your ear and hold the sound in makes them work well to keep out unwanted noise
BUT, even if you aren't interested in listening to music, these will effectively dim the noise of your companions and that baby in the row across the way
* Bass was not as strong as I

These blow my Bose over- the-ear headphones (comparably priced) away
They crush my Bose SoundTrue, which I lost a couple of days ago
The plug of the cable is inserted and then you give it a half turn to lock it in place, which avoids having it accidentally pulled out, as often happens on a more expensive Bose headphone I have and proves to be very annoying
