I read through most of the reviews before purchasing my silver iPod Classic.

I purchased what was advertised as a "refurbished Ipod classic" and received what I believed to be an ipod

This new iPod Classic is nothing less than a beatifull evolution of the 5.5 Gen. I just love it.

I am still very happy with it and it came in very good condition considering I bought it used

They are in good working condition for the most part... though one of them won't respond to our remote and won't charge 'as is' from the 'cradle' we have

With the new Apple merchandise, iTouch, iPhone, $235 is a very reasonable price for this, so if you don't have to have the absolute latest in technology this is definitely worth the purchase.

So I think it is an excellent product and a very good price.

So, this was the next best step for us and came at a good price per GB of memory

I had to locate an expert online in San Antonio, Texas (the best) to change it out, for a hefty price

I searched to web for an ipod and Amazon had just what I wanted and the price was great!

I chose the 80GB classic over the 8GB nano simply for $$.

Hello all,First I would like to say that I have the 80GB Classic

I got my 80GB iPod Classic a little less than a year ago.

Needless to say, I eventually got to the point where I want more than 1GB of music with me at a time (though I still think the Shuffle is the best thing for going on a jog, since it clips securely on to anything in reach), and I went out and bought the 80GB, since I'd heard such great things about some of the other models from Apple, and my music collection, at the time, didn't exceed 30GB.

I call it a electronic device b/c it bundles a high quality mp3 player,a photo viewer, video viewer, great screen for all your viewing, a great organized software interface to access everything,sleek,thin casing that fits in my back pocket unnoticeable,and last but not least an 80-160 GB Hard drive to hold all of my growing music (now 10 GB) and video, photo, and audiobook library (20 GB)

but I just want to listen to all my discography, with a good sound and in on small

OLD MODEL cause is working well, just the headphones has poor sound, I have to changed for a new ones.

Other than that, the sound is great, the picture is very clear on video.

It has a great sound and is easy to carry around on the go.

All this and inferior sound (harsh).

Like ANY update in the world, it adds some new features, cuts others and changes others

I personally have the old school 1 GB Shuffle but have to admit having the menu features and ability to scroll through albums and songs is a really nice feature.

True, it could have more functions (my last mp3, a Sansa 8GB, had a FM radio and a voice recorder, plus a micro SD slot if I needed more space), and though pretty I still do think that Cover Flow is really quite useless.

Alone, the device lacks an FM/AM tuner which I think is a fairly big draw back compared to other things out there

I don't consider it fair to judge it a bad device just because you had the expectation that the classic was gonna reinvent the wheel and solve all world problems

Although iTunes is not good enought (slow, heavy and buggy) the device itself is pretty good

Did rough and tumble wear with it that would kill most mp3 devices

The screen looks like it could scratch easily, so I didn't tempt fate and immediatley purchased a case to protect it

I love the split screen effect and all the new interface

Zune has video out - video remote - is faster than the IPOD - has a bigger and better screen - etc..

I'm just enjoying my new iPod Classic (80GB), I love the new design, (flatter and lighter) works perfectly for me; the screen, the games, the sound, everything is just so good

Great video transfer program and the pictures look great on the nice screen

- the sound quality is really good and it comes with about 20 preset EQ settings which are nice.

My two biggest complaints with the Classic is the sound quality and the clickwheel

Good quality sound, excellent memory for storage of songs, excellent buy, and prompt shipment

The sound quality is amazing, and you get all the features an Ipod can offer you such as video, pictures, music, etc

Other than that, the interface is very user-friendly, and the sound quality is superb.

We bought a portable DVD player with an iPod dock a month ago specifically for this new iPod, but Apple changed it's software so that none of the new iPods can be shown on older/unapproved DVD players

But it's a silly reason to purchase a media player, particularly when the player itself is so woefully underpowered

It helps so much for that...if you would like an mp3 player I totally recommend this iPod 80g player

Fortunately, hubby is a most capable 'cable guy' and figured out some workarounds to get this one to produce sound AND charge

Surprise - the TV out works only with expensive Apple cables - I bought the $50 cables they are terrible.

Battery life not completely tested yet, but seems much better than my 30g which was a couple of years old and most likely not holding a charge as well as when it was new

Nor is it compatible with any other system other than Apple overpriced $50 A/V Cable

Other reviews complain about a nonresponsive clickwheel, and the useless Cover Flow feature, but these aspects didn't bother me

I read the bad reviews here and they are all very particular and specific and odd (i.e., the problems these people are having will probably never happen to you).
