I've been using this bundle for 9 months already, the product is really cool and have tons of features I use to practice several sports, like Mtb, running, skiing, hiking and watersports
Great product and the best choice for this type of watches
All in all, it's a great product, definitely look no further, it's a smart watch with a great look, and awesome training tools!
Awesome product, I regret not buying the complete kit with heart rate monitor though.
FIRST ADVENTURE SPORT TRAINING GARMIN GPS/GLONASS WATCH, uncompromising performance meets uncompromising design
but you couldn't come up with a better design for the back of the watch?I'd like to give it 4 stars
The Fenix 3 smart watch is a very sleek, well designed tool for people who want to track their activities throughout the day or during different work outs
For watches that are designed primarily for function, it's as stylish as any I've seen
While a feature is that you can change the watch face styles and event create your own, I like the seconds displayed constantly and that only happens while using the Garmin built in watch faces
Display may be hard to read without backlight in some situations, though it's fine in daylight5
The display is do dim with such poor contrast that it's illegible indoors.
I like the watch however the display should be brighter and the watch could be a little more user friendly navigating through all the screens
Widgets and such are somewhat useful and keep it interesting, though I've so far personally found the built-in "digital" face with changeable number colors (to match the bands!) and background the most-useful yet non-dorky display.
So iPhone will glitch up your Garmin because they want you to buy the Apple watch
Garmin apparently dropped support for mapping in the fenix 3, so you can't visually view routes in the watch
I have never had issues up until now and this is also the most expensive Garmin watch I have ever owned.
We have this watch and two Garmin vivoactives in the household and needless to say we won't be buying anything Garmin makes ever again
I'm hoping Garmin figures the problem and resolves - but it's looking more and more likely to be hardware related with the antenna built into the exo-skelaton.
I am compelled to downgrade this rating to reflect the fatal flaw of this watch: its hopelessly inaccurate GPS chip.
I don't give it 5 stars because of following: The GPS is slow somehow
It is a fitness watch with great GPS, plus smart notifications from my smartphone
I do not know enough to speculate on the cause, but I can confirm from detailed experience that the GPS is inaccurate and unreliable, especially in areas with tree cover (see some photos below for examples, and no, we did not randomly run up and down the slopes off the trails).Garmin has, in my opinion, a terrific package and set of features that would make this watch the hands-down best-of-breed were it not for this issue
However, my biggest gripe is the GPS, which understates the distance by 150-250 meters ever-time I run
Again five stars on this product, definitely worth the money.
He loves the two bands as he uses the leather for work and the rubber for weekends.
I previously owned the Forerunner 620 which I loved (4 stars) and unfortunately the watch met an unfortunate end (left it on the top of my car); so I decided to upgrade.
The bezel does get scratched a bit but nothing to gnarly
It is not merely that the watch deviates a bit from the actual trail, nor is it the case that the Fenix 3 suffers from the inaccuracy inherent in all GPS devices, instead it is subject to frequent and significant errors in measuring distance (off by, literally, a mile or more in a typical day of hiking) and in tracking one's route
I have one reservation, I can't tell for sure, but it seems that at the edges of the sapphire lens, when looking at certain angles, it looks like there is a little bit of air
When I got this watch, I was a bit skeptical about it, as I could recall one review video showing that the Fenix 3 HR watches do not have "Sapphire" written on them at the back
Switching between the two bands is not done quickly, you need two screw drivers (included), I be a bit afraid on losing a nut or one of the screw

Multiple people on the garmin support forums have complained, and a number of sent it back
I had a samsung gear S before this watch, and I hated the touch screen and all the people who stopped me and wanted to know what my watch was.
People also have reported that it loses GPS track under trees - they have much older devices that have no problem with this.
If I had to hazard a guess, I'd bet that some senior executive whose bonus depended on an unrealistic release date he or she promised without consulting the technical people, forced this watch to be released before it was really ready
I've seen in other reviews that people have had problems with the screen scatching easily and that in itself almost made me not buy it, but I've had mine for 4 months and wear it daily and it hasn't scratched once
After wearing the watch for a few days, neither the weight nor the bulk bother me like I feared they might
My wife is a smaller frame female and did not like the size and weight on her wrist when she tried it on
I am also weight conscience as my daily dress watch is titanium, but the weight of the Fenix 3 is not at all unwieldy as I had feared.
