  • Overall, it's well designed, sleek, and has definitely been worth the price.
  • Also, the design is sleek and durable; it easily withstands exposure to rain and snow
  • The battery life of the product is really impressive and the product is well designed
  • The product itself is lightweight, attractive/unobtrusive, and well-designed

Reviews around work (5.00 of 5)

  • The battery life is great, turned off they last for months, and for a few days of normal usage, and the range has worked great for everything we've needed (and know the limitations - 1/2 mile in the city, up to a few miles rural areas or line of sight)
  • They were extremely successful in texting and sharing locations when our cell services were not working.
  • This worked really well on our recent hiking trip in NH

Reviews around gotennas (5.00 of 5)

  • I frequent, where there is spotty to zero cell coverage but the Gotennas work like magic, knowing that others have read your messages and dropping location pins to coordinate meet ups
  • I've used mine throughout trips to SE Asia, the Australian outback, New Zealand, as well as during hiking trips in the US
  • The gotennas were easy to setup using the app and took just a few minutes
  • The app's offline map was great for navigating town as well as for creating pins and sharing them when any of us wanted to mark a point of interest

  • I found that this limits the utility of the device in colder weather where it's necessary to keep batteries close to the body and warm so as to not quickly drain due to the cold.

Reviews around communication (5.00 of 5)

  • With the gotenna, my wife and I managed to divide and conquer on our side missions assiting our relatives while knowing that there was a reliable communication method dispite our distance in the island.
  • This is a great communication tool if you are backpacker, day hiker, or travel to other areas where cell-plan service maybe very expensive
  • The range has been excellent and I've had clear communications with my family when we otherwise would have been out of luck with no service

Reviews around range (4.42 of 5)

  • The range has been excellent and I've had clear communications with my family when we otherwise would have been out of luck with no service
  • I bought these because they're on the MURS/152MHz band, which should have good range and penetration.
  • The goTenna is a great solution for us because it has very good range and is rugged which is a consideration when taking it out to the beach or into the rugged country.
  • In practice, they have less reliable range than a good 2-Meter or FRS walkie-talkie.
  • and I've found the range to be really great - especially in the middle of

  • They are a great idea to have as a backup or if you are traveling.
  • The app's offline map was great for navigating town as well as for creating pins and sharing them when any of us wanted to mark a point of interest
  • He loved the idea and was shocked that I discovered them before he did
  • I've used mine throughout trips to SE Asia, the Australian outback, New Zealand, as well as during hiking trips in the US
  • It is not a good idea to broadcast your presence in a tourist area.

Reviews around device (4.16 of 5)

  • In a nutshell here is what I found (and it goes for both devices):- extremely difficult to pair with a phone (i use iPhone)- regularly drops bluetooth connection with phone (once connection is made)- even at modest distances (0.5 miles and under), in light foliage, with line-of-sight conditions, the devices failed (90% of the time) to connect and pass information- the app interface is problematic and not intuitive (requires a lot of time to figure out and is not user friendly)- the limited downloadable maps (an add on with the Plus subscription) are often dropped and require a re-download- according to the user manual, the transceivers are very sensitive to external electromagnetic fields (such as what the human body might generate) and should not be placed in close proximity to the body (ie. in a pocket)
  • I've been a satisfied user of these excellent devices since early beta testing
  • Really liked the device overall and plan to continue using at future festivals!
  • Overall I loved the device and the experience of the product
  • GoTenna seemed like an excellent fit....until I tried not just their original transceiver but the new Mesh device as well.

Reviews around map (3.66 of 5)

  • The app caused my Galaxy Note 5 to crash completely (requiring me to hold the power button to reset) multiple times when trying to pan the topo map around
  • The excellent offline maps even have the ski resort runs mapped out in some places!
  • The standard maps are very limited (only road maps)
  • it provides offline pretty good maps and shows everyone's last updated location relative to each other on the map- messages sent are confirmed when received within a few seconds, so you know if it the message got through or not- with shared GPS locations without Cellular coverage, it enables smartphones location sharing similar to Garmin Rhino Radios costing 3-4 times as much
  • To bad you can only get detailed outdoor maps when you subscribe to the plus subscription.

Reviews around gotenna (3.22 of 5)

  • I've used mine throughout trips to SE Asia, the Australian outback, New Zealand, as well as during hiking trips in the US
  • That means that you can elevate GoTenna and get more range out of it.
  • So therefore I knew it wasn't the goTenna's problem, but some miscommunication on our phones and the app.
  • Then after the Noah and their service department were kind enough to swap us for a different pair, we had the same exact problem! So as a last resort instead of trying to pair the goTenna's using our phone number, we noticed there is a way to do a random ID
  • I can't recommend goTenna enough for people who like to travel or explore the outdoors

Reviews around phone numb (1.00 of 5)

  • It is a small link under where it asks you to input your phone number
  • And a European phone number is not recognized to verify your Gotenna
  • The software cannot allow phone number other than USA default
  • Then after the Noah and their service department were kind enough to swap us for a different pair, we had the same exact problem! So as a last resort instead of trying to pair the goTenna's using our phone number, we noticed there is a way to do a random ID
  • The way the app tells you to pair it, is by using your phone number
