so basically the range isn't good in residential area unless you have a clear view or able to get the whole neighborhood to mesh with you for better range

Range is pretty good and can easily stretch miles in open areas given no metal or ground between the units

I have nothing but great things to say about the goTenna Mesh, well it could have slightly better individual range, but as an off-grid communication device, it is in a category of its own

Range was fantastic in urban testing and awesome with line of sight

the encrypting texting apps are a pain in the butt (great idea tho).I wanted to buy my own pair of GoTennas after our DC trip and was stoked to try V 2.0

I already own a pair of walkie talkies great little devices but they can get crowded especially when your walkie talkie is limited to certain channels you will have alot of other interference

These devices are a little smaller than the older version but work great and have the added mesh network feature (very cool!).PS: please excuse my friend’s hair tie in the second pic

In all, I am pleased with the performance we got and can only see things getting better from here

Io the two sets purchased (so we have 4 total units) 1 malfunctioned during the initial software update, and their tech department has no clue how to re set or fix it-it's in a non responsive state

The set-up process is pretty easy, download app and follow simple instructions and you are basically ready to use

I decided to return the Beartooth (which was not an easy process-they wanted to interrogate me on my testing methods before issuing an RMA)

It also kinda makes communication more fun than just texting, like Whatsapp - but obviously we don't need to have data coverage to use it!The general idea of the tech sounds great, and seems like with enough of these out there connecting to each other, it can really be a communications game changer

Anyway, the delivery confirmations are very reassuring and the app in general is easy to use

Seems to pair well with my iphone, and the app is easy to use.

Setting them up was a breeze the app is free to download and takes about 45 seconds to configure

the app has a very clear, step by step, account creation

App just crashes when you try to pair it.
