Reviews around pace (5.00 of 5)

  • I've heard it compared to Monster Hunter quite a bit, and from the little Monster Hunter I've played, I would say that the two are similar, only SS is faster paced
  • Firstly, the combat in this is MUCH more fast-paced, and your character is very agile and responsive
  • and I would recommend it to anybody who likes fast paced action, with crazy monsters

Reviews around action (5.00 of 5)

  • and I would recommend it to anybody who likes fast paced action, with crazy monsters
  • The whole portable-action-mmo sub-genre characterized by games like Monster Hunter or the less well-known Gods Eater Burst is massively entertaining to me
  • The action is much faster then monster hunter, and in my opinion more fun

Reviews around combat (4.49 of 5)

  • To save or sacrifice choices make the combat strategic and fresh
  • but once you gain different type of weapons and magic, the combat becomes very engaging and addicting
  • Here is what I though of it.************************************************************************PROS******************************************************************************Great combat:- This is the best aspect of this game
  • The Good: Fantastic graphics, intense combat, many different weapons, memorable and well
  • I enjoy the game and the combat, but I just felt it got a little repetitive.

Reviews around way (4.42 of 5)

  • Way too many stupid powers and spells
  • Constantly upgrading your character, tweaking their arsenal and learning the most efficient way to take on monsters alone or with friends is super fun
  • It's an entertaining way to go about making each player's character that much more unique, as most people don't level up the same way
  • Constantly upgrading your character, tweaking their arsenal and learning the most efficient way to take on monsters alone or with friends is super fun
  • Its also good you customize to sacrifice or save each boss to get stronger in health or magic really customizing the way you play

Reviews around play (4.26 of 5)

  • I LOVE playing on Ad Hoc with my boyfriend or on the multiplayer
  • Worth playing if you're into on the go games and don't really care for a story.
  • would recommend buying and playing considering the low price!
  • Hunter). If anyone has played Lord of Arcana for PSP, it's just like that but more enhanced
  • I've heard it compared to Monster Hunter quite a bit, and from the little Monster Hunter I've played, I would say that the two are similar, only SS is faster paced

Reviews around lot (4.26 of 5)

  • This let me down quite a bit mainly because they hyped up the system a lot while hailing it to be hardcore and unforgiving
  • If you die a lot, prepare to be sacrificed by a team mate
  • A lot of work clearly went into how the story was told, and it entertains with a few twists every now and then

Reviews around weapon (3.80 of 5)

  • The Good: Fantastic graphics, intense combat, many different weapons, memorable and well
  • It's a journal of a mad sorcerer, and he later explains you need to stop this powerful sorcerer, but in the mean time you need to level up, gather strong weapons, and learn about his past
  • and I was still dying several times per boss because I just couldn't get any powerful weapons
  • This is a great idea if the game didn't constantly throw crappy weapons at you
  • The Good: Fantastic graphics, intense combat, many different weapons, memorable and well

Reviews around time (3.80 of 5)

  • Well worth your time, but it's not the killer game Vita needs, and this is an honest assessment
  • expect them to fire fireballs hitting you instead of the monster all the time
  • At this point Soul Sacrifice is a worthy gameplay time of 60 hours so far for me.
  • A must have for mature gamers who like stories and medieval time settings
  • It was difficult, but it felt like success was just out of range every time I had to try again

Reviews around gameplay (3.51 of 5)

  • The graphics are fantastic, gameplay is smooth, and it's co
  • The gameplay itself is very solid and extremely engaging and fun
  • First off, let me say that this is the Vita's answer to Monster Hunter; it is fun to hunt down creatures, and the gameplay is often very intense
  • gameplay is fun with 3 other people, but the game wears thin pretty fast
  • I completely loved the gameplay, of course I need to practice but this game is awesome, the online its great not like other game like psallstars

Reviews around spell (3.44 of 5)

  • It's obvious that I'm not going to get anywhere without grinding more powerful spells and getting a higher attack/def level
  • No matter what I do it feels like I'm still spamming the same 4 or 5 different spells
  • Magic spells by themselves can only be used a certain amount of times or they'll break and you wont be able to use them until you fix them in the main book section.
  • The higher your magic, the stronger your offensive spells get and the more you reload your current spells when sacrificing
  • The stronger your life level, the more powerful your defense and recovery spells get

Reviews around attack (3.22 of 5)

  • See also the quite large collection of lore that is unlocked throughout your advancement, but it will not only provide very interesting stories, it also gives hints to bosses weaknesses and info on their deadlier attacks
  • Other players can choose to sacrifice you in order to do devastating attacks, even against your will - but you will be rewarded for it
  • Sacrificed players can then act as spirits, who can see enemy lifebars, bolster attack and defense, and shout out phrases from a list of pre-picked options
  • When an ally falls in battle you have the option to save them for half your life or sacrifice them for a super attack and then they watch as a ghost and offer slight help like boosting players and weakening monsters
  • Even the really powerful attacks have a cost so it encourages you to employ balance

Reviews around monster (1.91 of 5)

  • It had tremendous amount of hype, possibly an "app killer" and after watching many trailers and gameplays and hearing from people this would be sort of like monster hunter (a franchise which I love), I was sold
  • When an ally falls in battle you have the option to save them for half your life or sacrifice them for a super attack and then they watch as a ghost and offer slight help like boosting players and weakening monsters
  • At least on the japanese PSN its been have regular free monster updates every few weeks, and only has one DLC for charge which is the online pass.
  • Which are mad dashes to find all the items before the shadowy monsters kill you.
  • If you can't find any kill monsters and sacrifice them during boss battles or whenever to get more spell points

Reviews around use (1.54 of 5)

  • The combat is a little different from things that I was used to and frightened me at first.
  • People who need action or spectacle every second will be bored by SS's re-use of similar assets and monsters
  • When the Sacrifice bar is filled, the player's character does more damage with their attacks and gains more uses for abilities when sacrificing creatures
  • This along with the large variety of spells makes a lot strategies possibles such as using the life draining spell with healing, or only carry fire if fire is the weakness of the monster you are fighting.
  • Many of the spells are in fact useless unless used in coop

Reviews around power (1.54 of 5)

  • Blue (good/health&DEF), is gained when "saving" your prey & Red (evil/magic power), is gained when "sacrificing" your prey
  • Blue (good/health&DEF), is gained when "saving" your prey & Red (evil/magic power), is gained when "sacrificing" your prey
  • I guess they're trying to bog u down with so many stupid worthless powers you won't realize how clunky and boring the gameplay is.

Reviews around hunter (1.00 of 5)

  • I've owned a Vita for quite a while to get ahead of the game and be prepared for a new Monster Hunter game
  • If you're familiar with the Monster Hunter games you will feel right at home in this game, and if aren't this game will do it's darnest to get you up to speed with a solid and for once actually interesting tutorial
  • This game is similar with the monster hunter series, but with sorceress and not hunters
  • It is what makes this game stand out so much from the Monster Hunter franchise that I have compared it with so many times already, thus giving it a distinct feel of individuality
  • If you like monster hunter style action game then this one you wouldn't wanna missed.pro: epic fight and well written story.con: some of the offerings are too powerful

Reviews around souls (1.00 of 5)

  • You have no stamina bar so unlike Dark Souls or Monster Hunter feel free to run around, roll, and attack to your hears content
  • This is not an Open World like Monster Hunter, Dark Souls, Witcher 2, or even Demon's Souls with its archway portals
  • It sounded like Dark Souls meets Monster Hunter; two of my favorite games of all time
  • Witcher 2, Uncharted Golden Abyss, Chrono Trigger, Dark Souls, and even Secret of Evermore will also be present to compare other individual components of the game
  • Given the dark style and depth of lore of the game, I would've loved it to be more like Demon's/Dark Souls, and be a full-fledged action RPG, but this is not the case, and it's a shame

Reviews around people (1.00 of 5)

  • I see many people comparing this game to Monster Hunter Series
  • People who need action or spectacle every second will be bored by SS's re-use of similar assets and monsters
  • Additions include an option to change the colors in Mind's Eye (For color-blind people, I guess?), a "Discovery Pact" mini-game with the AR card, a recap after each pact telling you exactly what Soul/Life essences you got during it (Which is awesome if you weren't paying attention to it during the pact or there were too many scores popping up to see it
