It was working just fine since 2017 when I bought it on Amazon
This switch works really well but is very temperamental with connecting to a Unifi controller
I'm not an advanced hardware person, but everything seems to be working great with this device.
I'd say that if you're running the (free) Ubiquiti controller software (or have the Cloud Key), AND are using Unifi access points and a USG secure gateway as your router, than all these work very well together
I am running the Unify controller on a Raspberry Pi 3 and everything has been working great.
It is very nice to see some of these more advanced features available on the controller now!!!
They have included some great features I wished they had at the beginning of my review
The switch has great features in the Unifi Controller such as displaying memory usage, temperature, POE usage and other functions
I would love to see more features on the Unifi controller, like native vlan configuration per port, dhcp snooping, Switch port Mac security, and lldp support when connecting non ubiquiti devices
These switches are easy to set up, provide many powerful features which are perfect for networks small and large, and have proven to be quite reliable
I just finished my first installation of Ubiquiti products at an orphanage in Mexico we help support, and it all went just as well as we hoped
Software is pretty nice, but if you don't want to have it running on a computer or VM buy the Ubiquiti dongle.
Regular firmware updates are a plus, not that they're needed since the software is generally solid out of the
I love the Controller software and the fact you can manage every network device from one interface.
Great for PoE applications, Unify is fantastic management software, combined with other UBNT technologies these are the road and path to move away from Cisco and other networking devices.

While the switches here are fantastic with a world class user interface (I've used Dell, Cisco, HP and many others in the past and they pale in comparison) the Ubiquiti WiFi system is abysmal.
Ubiquiti's products all work in concert together - so it's hard to parse out a review of this switch as a standalone device
Very nice switch; probably worthwhile to consider going with 16 or 24 port versions for the modest incremental price; 8 ports get burned up pretty quick once you start adding APs and other miscellaneous network devices
Just wish the price was cheaper, but that doesn't count!
A powerful, easy to configure, managed switch, with PoE for an amazing price.
That said here are my thoughts:8 Port 12W - a great little unit, especially in my case where I have larger PoE switches deployed
I have not seen any posts about failed units and I haven't had any issue with mine even with the exterior case temp at 125 degrees when my garage ambient was well over 100
I wanted to post some information I gathered on most of the UniFi switches to help people purchase the right unit
My only regret after purchasing this unit is the fact that I wish I had more ports
The fan is positioned so that the air flow covers both units from the top of the 60W to the bottom of the 150W and does an excellent job of cooling both units.
The switch interface through unifi adds some great network overview and control
Configuration is a snap bought switches and Access Points and my network has never been faster.

Like most Ubiquiti products this is a good network switch
Keep your enterprise mindset for the gear you deal with at work, and use your UniFi mindset for your home setup so that you can have a well functioning prosumer network at home without having to support a full blown enterprise network in your house during your off time.
Originally purchased the 60w 8 Port switch and ended up exchanging for the 150w because I like that all the ports are PoE instead of just 4 like with the 60w.
This 8 port (technically 10 port with sfp ports) is fantastic
The HP 8 port is great as I mentioned, while the HP 24 port is too loud for

Doesn't seem to run excessively hot, and the SFP ports are nice to have for future expansion.

Then, by chance, after populating all the remaining empty ports on the switch with other devices (in my case, 100mbit devices - various smart home devices) that the negotiated speed mysteriously popped back up to 1 Gbps across all the APs
Electronic devices do not like high temperatures since they can really shorten the lifespan of a device
Manageable switch to fine tune various devices from proprietary 24V passive to POE+

I implemented this into my existing network that runs multiple Ubiquiti APs and a Cloud Key controller
You HAVE to use Ubiquiti's controller software (or Cloud Key) to setup the switch
I wish the Unifi controller software was built into the switch, but the Cloud Key Controller works well as the manager.
It powers my APs perfectly, plays nice with my other switches, and acts as the central core of my network connecting my Unifi Security Gateway, my Cloud Key Controller, my APs and other IoT devices such as TVs, PCs, and Ubiquiti cameras together.
