Great product for the price seems durable and love the feature of the waterproof and floating would suggest buying a pair
Can't comment on range claims, but product failed (stopped receiving at one of the handsets) within 6 months and the company has failed to respond to any warranty claim.
these radios wont talk a mile long ways from 50 mile I would not recommend this product

They come with a caribeaner which can hook up to a lanyard, a very handy feature.
If you don't need the waterproof feature try "Midland GXT860VP4", takes regular AA batteries and has great features with approx same range.

Just wanted to clear one thing up, My Uniden model GWR-5089 will not accept any other batteries than the battery packs that are made for it
We use them for so many other things as well, talking between cars on family road trips, keeping in touch around the campsite.
The only thing would be the lack of signal even if it’s less than a block away and the battery life is horrible

I hoped , it has very long range, but in th city after almost one kilometer you can not contact with other, a well designed and functional device, but range is completely disappointment for me.
The maximum range of range is 2 to 3 free miles, waste my money.
The overstated max range and the fact that Uniden has been good to me in the past is why I ordered these radios.

As long as there wasn't a land mass between us communication was clear just as it should be
Will be using with headsets for front to backstage communication and for that they work VERY well.
The 50 miles range should be only possible i guess on a perfect flat terrain distance, because after i got distanced from the second walkie after 10 miles, I lost communication
Used these on a road trip with friends and had great communication from vehicle to vehicle even though they were out of sight at times
we use these when camping, great communication when cell phones dont have service

These are very durable, easy to program and use, and have a robust set of features for dealing with a variety of small group, short-range private comms needs.
The second set arrived but the same issue - the batteries would not charge.
Good set of radio's dangerous is good too
