WD Blue 3D NAND 1TB PC SSD - SATA III 6 Gb/s, M.2 2280 - WDS100T2B0B
Capacity:1TB
The WD Blue 3D NAND SATA SSD utilizes 3D NAND technology for capacities up to 2TB with enhanced reliability. Featuring an active power draw up to 25% lower than previous generations of WD Blue SSDs, you’re able to work longer before re...
First time I used an M2 drive, put this into an Acer 515 and used the WD available version of acronis to move Windows 10 over to this drive.
I ended up using a free tool called Macrium Reflect since WD decided to not bother supporting their customers properly.
WD Blue 3D is also available in capacity of up to 1 TB, with 2 TB available in the near future (as of September 2017).Installation is very simple, but you need a M2 screw (M2 refers to a metric screw, and has no relation to the M.2 form factor) that is 3mm long, has a pan head that is 5mm in diameter
I'll also commend WD on closing the gap in performance between their Blue line and Samsung's 850 EVO line
I'm sure WD is proud of their logo and colors, as they should be
Western Digital has great products for DIY that last for years
All I had to do afterwards was to format the 1T hard drive which came with the laptop and assign it to store photos, videos, and large files
This is a great product I've had it in use for about a month now
Seems to run a little warmer than the stock in my Dell XPS 13 but great product!
this product works just as expected the only con is it does not come with the mounting screw seems to me it should not be something you need to purchase separately
The price has dropped since I wrote the review, making the WD Blue 3D SSD an even better value if you're looking at SATA drives.
All these SSD drives are so much faster than traditional spinning drives that I highly recommend any reputable brand over any spinning HDD, and if you are looking for a good value, the WD SSD drive at $30 less (at the time of this review) for the 256gb model than the Samsung 850 PRO with the same performance is a great deal
crazy fast, great value, running linux on my laptop solid.
Pretty good value, but it isn't much faster than my old SSD because they both use the SATA protocol
If you don't need top performance, this drive is a really great value
However, if you are looking for great performance, a good price, compatibility with laptops and motherboards that only support SATA M.2 and not PCIe M.2, this is a winner.
Great price, greatly improved the performance on my Acer Swift One Ultrabook.
Crazy fast boot times, solid performance, good price per gigabyte.
But for the price if it fails after a few years who's going to complain
but it might be worth checking out if the price is competitive with other brands
For the average and even above average user, the SATA M.2 offer more than enough speed and performance

Excellent product, very fast performance and a value for the money
All I had to do afterwards was to format the 1T hard drive which came with the laptop and assign it to store photos, videos, and large files
Works as expected, benchmarks are on point, this is now my main ssd for games and the like
I got this 1TB SSD module to replace the woefully slow performance of the module that Glyph puts in their Atom ( Glyph Atom Grey, 275GB SSD, USB-C (3.1, Gen 2), USB 3.0, Compatible with Thunderbolt 3 ) external SSD
The disk works very well, the speed increased remarkably as expected

Solid SSD drive - much lighter than expected and performs really well!
We replaced a slower ssd that was having performance issues and it works like a dream now.
That said: this SSD is very good once it starts running
BETTER:- Packaging allowed the SSD to get a little loose in the package, but the device worked fineCONCLUSION: Great SSD, let's hope it has great reliability, too!
Samsung has the longer track record with SSDs, but Western Digital has a solid reputation in storage, so I have no problems recommending the WD Blue 3D SATA SSD
The disk works very well, the speed increased remarkably as expected
For the average and even above average user, the SATA M.2 offer more than enough speed and performance
After benchmarking the second drive, I am getting slightly slower speeds
I like the speed of the M.2, the start of the OS is much faster, the PC works better, the tasks are done in less time
I'd like to make clear for those of you that already have a SSD in your machine, you won't see any drastic speed differential (if you SSD is fairly modern) as this M.2 is still using SATA
Get a Windows installation media and go through a clean install
I would only fault them on the lack of in-box documentation and the rather unusual suggestion that this product should only be installed by a professional
Didn't use the disk imaging soft and decided to make a fresh install
All I had to do afterwards was to format the 1T hard drive which came with the laptop and assign it to store photos, videos, and large files
After a fresh install of windows with this disk installed I ran ASSD disk benchmark and the "WD Blue 3D Nand" beat my old drive with a 20-25% speed increase
I use it for "/home/" partition in pair with Samsung NVME SSD as "/".500mb/s enough for games, media, etc
Found out that is all false advertising as you only get that with the 2TB drive and not with the 500gb drive which was spec’d at 200 WTB
Unless your answer includes some sort of multimedia production, especially video or 3d rendering, then I doubt the I/O speeds will be that noticeable
All I had to do afterwards was to format the 1T hard drive which came with the laptop and assign it to store photos, videos, and large files
The M.2 being the same technology as the 2.5" drive has the same speeds and is also a good choice, but if you have a motherboard that can support the faster V-NAND drives, that might be worth looking into

As used for storage capacity, one terabyte (TB) = one trillion bytes
Total accessible capacity varies depending on operating environment
Active power draws are up to 25% lower during sequential reads than previous generations of WD Blue SSD at the 500GB capacity point
As used for transfer rate or interface, megabyte per second (MB/s) = one million bytes per second and gigabit per second (Gb/s) = one billion bits per second
MTTF = Mean Time To Failure based on internal testing using Telcordia stress part testing
TBW (terabytes written) values calculated using JEDEC client workload (JESD219) and vary by product capacity.
