I added the UMC22 to my laptop in order to extend the broadcast to new sources, make the broadcast portable as well as to do some interesting tricks with a softward video mixer.
Works great on OS X.I love the metal housing, and the device is a great value for $
As interfaces go, this one is as good as those costing two or three times as much
I would recommend downloading a version of audacity directly from Audacity's website.
Had similar issues trying to use this interface on Presonus free download.

Could not get interface to work with protools free download.
This combination provides a decent quality audio, however I can hear the high frequency crosstalk and interference from CPU and RAM (or, whatever else is present in my PC).I
Most people don't know the difference between good and great audio.
If you don't have a need for sparkling audio, if you don't know the difference between good and great audio, if you want an interface for location recording that isn't expensive, if you're using this for audio that doesn't need to be up front in the mix, this interface will work.
My mind was blown and this product stands firm as my favorite audio interface for helping me discover that these are current 2017 gen console compatible
I am not an audio professional, but have a musical education and appreciate a high quality audio
Now I can hear and practice my electric guitar without having to use my loud amp to advertise my embarrassment
Louder amp effects sounded crystal clear, it was night and day compared to the cheap 1/4" to
One big problem that will keep you from using the monitoring on the interface altogether (and from using it as a convenient headphone amp too) is that it absolutely KILLS the highs in anything that comes through these ports
Hate the generic drivers provided by this company.the unit it self seems nice and once you finally get it working it sounds ok.not as good as my old M-Audio Fire Solo (but again, updated drivers for windows 10 killed support for that unit)which is why I'm really disappointed on this new unit

great gear, great quality, very easy to use, had no problems with anything, both mic and guitar works great
I do a lot of voice work and you need a crisp file to work from.
The interface is rock solid and worked amazing right out of the box
This one works very well and feels like it'll last as long as I live.
It does, however, eliminate the need to go through your OS's sound system, which can be useful when working with ASIO or CoreAudio exclusive modes to reduce latency
There is no hissing noise, no high-pitch cross-talks, no clicking or cracking noises, just plain clean sound
If you are a fan of white noise static hissing goodness then buy this
--which warrants the single star-- is that the output from the unit via USB (I was unable to test the Monitor Headphones output) has a constant static noise that sounds like a hiss/whine
You'll never get to decrescendo into silence, only into an irritable noise
There is a constant high frequency hissing noise, even if no software is emitting sounds from
