After researching the problem, other people had trouble with the charging port, reporting poorly soldered connection within the Fire connecting the port

I replaced my old HD8 because it wouldn't charge anymore - the connection was somehow bad

, it is designed to block competitors-- like everything google-- you have to always be logged into Amazon while using it so now it knows all my gmail accounts while I use them, I spent most of my time denying offers and blocking every monitoring method I could find on it

the issue I have been having first that is most annoying is - this 8 inch will not show up on my pc to transfer music to the sd card - plus the touch screen is not as sensitive as before - it takes a couple of swipes to get it to respond, I hardly ever use it anymore except to listen to spotify music - the only good thing about it is the dolby sound
