Cheap, fast, somewhat quiet, average print quality - but the blinking power light when the printer goes to sleep is driving me bonkers (I've seen landing lights on small aircraft that aren't as bright).

They (like every other company out there) will not just build a solid printer driver, they are trying to "authenticate your ink" (so you don't buy the competitions) and "automatically re-order ink" for your.. so many "services" running that the software ruins the product.

Have had this printer for our small business for several months and have printed over 1,200 pages - 1,200 PERFECT pages using the toner it came with.

Bypass feature typically (not always) fails to print the first check or page, instead printing a page from the drawer... thus wasting lots of paper, e.g., printing a check on a 8-1/2"x11" piece of paper

This is my forth hp laserjet printer, and by far the lightest and smallest (I bought my first laserjet model II, in 1990, and it cost $2000!)It replaces an hp 2055dn, which unfortunately had started smearing pages, probably due to a bad fuser unit.

The gears are WHINING very loudly and it ate through 2 toners in a day with light printing (the toner's gears on the side were ruined by the printers).

the original toner is bloody expensive.

The cartridge comes pre-installed (first time I've experienced that, so HP must have great confidence that it's not going to leak out toner in shipping and storage).The unit is small, quick, and fairly quiet.

If by chance you use the HP CD then be prepared for HP to deluge you with unwanted solicitations and offers not to mention a nagging msg pushing their own brand of ridiculously expensive toner cartridges
