I bought this for my grandson for his birthday it was broke when it arrived my grandson cried and smacked me

Our 4 year old grandson absolutely loves this tablet, and it's great for taking on long trips in the car.

My grandson loves the interactive home screen and how it actually changes from day to night as well as the current weather in our city can be seen on the screen.

Our 4 year old grandson loves his Leap Frog tablet and it keeps him entertained for hours.

Great price, my grandson loves it, and one of his few toys he can learn with..

I do love the parental controls in this and the safe web

I love that it's so kid friendly and has awesome parental controls.

I like how it has a kid safe browser on it as very good parental controls.

My one major pet peeve is that parental controls and the Internet are too easy for the kids to access.

Overall the parental controls are good and my daughter loves it

I like having the option of adding those to this tablet, but I love the fact that I can add games to it that we've already bought at Amazon for the other tablets in our house

I love the time controls, the fact that i can add websites i would like my child to have access to without having to use my tablet

I love the fact that my kids can play their existing Leapfrog games

The fact that this only has the Amazon store and not Google play sucks more than I realized

I love the fact that the tablet is strictly a child friendly tablet

The child safe internet is the best feature in my opinion

One of the best features for us was the internet access.

He adores this feature and it has lots of educational videos,

My daughter loves the camera feature and she feels like one of the big kids now.

There is a stylus pen attached to this, and I thought that was a cool feature

Not a big deal since we have windows and can check the current weather, but my son likes to look at forecasts and this irritates him

We have purchased various leappad tablets over the years but the Leapfrog Epic is by far the best of all

As for the internet access, they finally told me that the Epic is an Android device and didn't support Adobe Flash Player.

Both my kids love the epic but the screen does freeze on occasion

Otherwise, the Epic is just a an inferior competitor, valued only as change of scenery, therefore not worth the price of the device or the apps.

My boys love the LeapFrog Epic (they call it the Green ipad) and love playing big kid games.

Great product, keeps my 3 year old busy while she is learning!

The product is wonderful for our two and a half year old granddaughter.

Its a little busy but good product because as your child grows, you can advance the games.

But overall, my son loves this and it is a great product!

My daughter is not particularly rough with it but for a tablet built for children it is certainly not sturdy.

My daughter really loved hers which is why I fought so hard to get a properly working one

My daughter loves it and features like adding your own videos seem more natural with this tablet

My kids watch YouTube kids and this tablet doesn't support it too

It is easy for kids to get a food crumb/dirt into this.

not only that but the games are boring even for my 4 year old

The digital games are more expensive than games on ioS and Android

It has wonderful graphics and interactive Leapfrog games

I like that we can access the underground appstore and all the free games

The games are expensive I don't mind paying 5-10$ for a good game but some were much more

And after you install the amazon store leapfrog blames those apps for the tablet crashing.

Also, accessing amazon app store opens up a world of awesome free apps

The leapfrog apps are too expensive when amazon underground has the same apps for free

but it's nice how it can download amazon underground and get free apps from there

The graphics aren't anything to rave about and the apps are extremely expensive

Leap search (the kid safe approved content) works great for the websites Leapfrog has picked, but only partially works for the websites that I added

You can access the web with this tablet, but out of the box, kids can access only pre-selected, kid safe web content.

The content on apps is unreliable and customer service is unable or unwilling to work with us

I like that the content is restricted to age appropriate

The LeapFrog Epic also has a search browser that allows access to the Internet, but ensures only access to approved kid-appropriate web content allowing us to know that our kids will be searching the Internet safely.

The stylus that is attached to the Leapfrog Epic is already ruined after only three days

my son chewed up the stylus..and the wall charger broke in about a week but on the plus side any charger works with

The device that costs $90 and apps ranging in $10 should have kids friendly stylus in place

My 5 year old destroyed her first stylus in day to day use

I think it is lightweight and love that the stylus in at the center bottom, great for left and right handed kids

I am not sure now about my next step, cause it's definitely not a miss use or improper device handling.

I didn't pay all that money for a used smelling tablet.

If I had known you cannot disable it or restrict its use, I would not have purchased this product

The LeapFrog software that comes with the device is decent but not extraordinary, and additional software from the LeapFrog App Store is very expensive compared to other Android Apps, so you will probably be wanting to buy any additional apps from the Amazon App Store instead (this app does not support Google services, so you cannot access the Play Store or other Google services such as Google

which in my opinion one crazy expensive compared to any other app store while the other is a nice gesture, however, its pretty apparent it isnt a priority for amazon to provide "true" children games as the majority of them have ads, in-game popups which lead to an external browser when clicked on as well as glorified icons for ingame purchases.

I cannot say how much easier the EPIC is as compared to the older LeapPads with cartridges that my sister had to deal with when her kids were growing up!

For $140, it might be a bit pricey compared to say, the $50 Fire, but there is something to say about the experience

The charger just isn't secure enough in the port

I'm the only one allowed to charge it because I don't want to break the charger

It loads a tiny bit slow but that may be because of the other apps we have loaded up

It was a bit difficult for me to navigate for the first hour or two.

One speaker so volume is very low (kid complains a bit about that)2

I love that parental controls let you set up time limits for daily play for each different child account - for total time on the Epic, and/or limits on different categories of play

You can set time limits for learning apps that are different from time limits they can surf YouTube or watch videos.

I love the fact that it has good tracking of time limits

I highly value the safety that LeapFrog puts on the child's access to the Internet, and you can even set time limits for certain types of tablet activities, not allow use on school days, etc

The time limit for it to shut off at 8pm is GREAT - then I don't have to be the bad guy

Every video we try to open says "Aquire DRM Info Failed" or "DRM License Corrupt" and the only remedy is to attach the thing to wifi and then open each video so it can validate its DRM, then you're good for maybe a day or two.

The DRM makes this completely useless for any kind of travel because it constantly caused my son to melt down over videos that would only play the first 5 seconds (thanks, Leapfrog)

Comes with gel cover to protect the leappadCons:We kept getting a DRM failure notice when trying to watch videos offline

We bought tons of videos (generally at $10+ a piece) that carried over to the Epic but unlike on the LP3 which could reside in my car for weeks at a time, the Epic has some outrageous DRM scheme that requires it to connect to the internet at least once every 2 or 3 days.

Apps were just a bit pricey especially if you regularly purchase.

Apps are expensive and can be better built so hopefully updates make it a better tool for the kids

The child setting does not give them access to the Amazon store so you don't have to worry about them downloading Apps that you don't approve of

Leapfrog technical support has been useless and unhelpful as well.

Now I am experiencing my charging issue with the tablet starting 14 months after owning.

Parents, do NOT purchase this until Leapfrog figures out what is going on with the battery-charging issues this latest batch is having.
