I purchased this product to use with a Verizon unlimited data plan.
A must have if you have a Verizon unlimited data plan or don't want satellite internet.
After hours on the phone with Verizon, they figured out that this device does not qualify for any unlimited data plan.
I used this device on my unlimited data plan and received a letter from Verizon saying I would be disconnected if I didn't switch to a device compatible with my plan
Thankfully, Verizon brought back the Unlimited data plans.
But the office/home phone is through Verizon Home Connect-a good solution for me.
If you are a casual internet user and verizon customer who doesn't watch too many movies over the internet, I honestly think you would be hard pressed to find a better internet solution
If you have great home cell signal like me on Verizon, it's a great solution, that's the only essential caveat -- make sure you have good to great Verizon signal at your home.
This is a much better solution than using a MiFi connecting via Wireless to a Cradle-point Wireless router for Internet.
Great solution to internet access from out beyond the reach of anything else except satellite.
The price I paid was very good and I am a very satisfied customer and would purchase another router from this vendor.
After much research and work with tech support at Verizon and Apple, this was the ONLY reasonably priced solution for porting my Apple Airport Extreme WiFi network, which I love, to a wireless solution with Verizon after AT&T forced me to "cut the cord" completely.
The Airport Extreme requires an Ethernet source for its Internet connection, and this very reasonably priced router provides that, as well as good performance.

Works great!It is a good wifi hotspot with ethernet ports
It's a pretty good WiFi base by itself, but the Airport Extreme is far more powerful, so I do not use that function.

In the end I returned the router as the old one works fine once its battery was force charged into the operational range.2-stars because the seller is selling these in a non-operational condition.
I had no problem adding the router to our Verizon everything plan and was able to do all set-up on-line through My-verizon.
But as it stands I am paying an activation fee and line access fee for a really cool cellular modem/router that makes a lovely paperweight
I would assume that after the next billing cycle starts I will be able to get the 4G speeds again, but I am not keeping the router long enough to find out
There are some far more expensive routers that would work, but this is excellent for my small office needs.
It would be nice if Verizon (or an aftermarket manufacturer) would make available an external antenna that would produce good signal gain.
I was hesitant to activate till I took it out there to see if I could get a good enough signal to warrant the cost
Especially if you have weak signal it will drop conneections and never reconnect until restarted, so basically you need to sit next to it and restart it the whole time you use the internet
The Verizon service on the other hand is B.S. we pay for the unlimited package, but the first 15 gigs on this device is 4g, after that they throttle it to 200kb

As far as hardware and useability go, this thing is awesome.
Right now it's hard to think of enough good things to say.
i'm 7 miles from a tower and have a high gain yagi attached and this thing crawls slower than dsl!
I've tried Clear and many other wireless connection devices but this, in my opinion, is the best thing out there
Verizon told me it's "pre-owned" devices (might be stolen) which can not be activated

The device itself looks great, so pretty disappointing.
Sim card in device cannot be activated, device is useless
So, the device is fine, the data plan from Verizon was our issue.
Also, I am planning to connect with my telephone as well as use for WiFi and have read in the reviews that there is a terrible beep that only the person on the other side of the conversation hears.
Actually, I have a friend who recently purchased this item and when I am talking to them, I do hear the annoying harsh beep.
We have been noticing that there is an annoying beep like someone punching numbers on the phone
