Mechanical pencils aren't for everyone but if they're your preferred writing style, you form strong opinions on seemingly small things like how often the lead breaks while writing, how effective the eraser is, how the pencil fits in your hand, how much force you can apply on the eraser before it grinds itself up into a mess on your paper, how long it takes for the pencil to lose grip of the lead and just push it in when you try to write

They are very durable, with a comfortable grip and the lead size, 0.9 creates a smooth, textured writing on paper.

The 0.5 mm ones break too easily when you're writing, and the 0.9 mm ones are too big and are like using a regular semi-worn number 2 pencil

The 9mm lead does not break easily, and can put down a lot of strokes without running out of lead.

Also my 1st grader can grip it with no problem of breaking the lead as often as the 0.5mm & 0.7mm lead pencils

They have all the advantages of the Sumo's-- fat grip (not as fat as sumo but fatter than a standard wooden pencil), generous twist-up erasers-- plus a lower price and a metal clip.
