On its arrival, the Rotring delegated it to 2nd place before I could even get the pencil completely out of its box (excellent packaging, is just one of many "little things" this product gets right
This is a wonderful "want" product, and not a "need" for most of us (myself included).
I am a mechanical pencil geek, and I have to say this is one of the best products you are going to get
Really, a great product, a great company, get it if you care about owning nice things.
If you want higher quality mechanical pencil, this is a good product to try out.
Positives for me on the r0tring 600:- nice metal feel- balanced weight that makes it comfortable to holdNegatives:- expensive- no rotating mechanism to keep
small)The rOtring- the sturdiest pencil I've ever used, made from solid metal-
this pencil is great, it is solid metal and writes nicely
But the Rotring takes it a step further making this portion of the pencil knurled metal (same as the grip employs) and tops it like a cherry with its iconic red ring "logo"
The design is amazing and the cool metal feel of the body automatically made this pencil my favorite
Great pencil and has a really nice weight and overall quality.
However, I cannot help but gravitate towards the heftier weight of the Rotring
The mechanicsm is smooth and never had any lead getting stuck, the tip is a serious problem, you are paying for a pencil that costs $30, but when your tip breaks you will be looking at an obsolete paper weight.
The weight is very nice, and it feels sturdy in the hand
It has a hefty weight, so one bad drop can permanently damage the sleeve, rendering it useless
Great balance - the knurling where you hold is perfect - not too sharp, but definitely won't slip in your fingers.
I love the barrel size, the weight is perfect, and the balance of the pencil is just right.
Not as sturdy / solid-feeling / well balanced...but a bit more comfortable (still wish it had a rubber grip)- unfortunately, looks a lot more like an ordinary pencil - not going to impress other people, if that's what you're
Their balance is very nice, grip is perfect and are built to last
I'm generally careful with my pencil but if it falls off the table it's balanced so it will always land on that nipple.
It just feels great: it is very sturdy being full metal (a tank, really), weight is appropriate and it is very well balanced, the knurled grip is comfortable and grip is good
But that one also has a fatter grip which might be a factor making it more painful
It's the best mechanical pencil in the world, weighted perfectly and the grip is just perfect
Grip is extremely rough, with a texture similar to that of a metal file
The knurled grip is fantastic and the shape, length, and weight are ideal
This is a pencil that is highly made and holds up to a nice writing
If you want bragging rights or a really nice writing pencil, this is a good choice
it's non-plastic materials and closer to the weight of what makes a good writing instrument
As a geek with a weak spot for expensive writing stuff, I thouroughly enjoy using it
While I shouldn't drop my expensive writing materials, they also should be able to survive a medium drop considering the price and how solid the rest of the pencil is
My Precious!I don't know why the black version is more expensive
There are so many positives I'll focus on the issues that have merit
They also used to come in a nice unique plastic case with a large "O" (for rOtring) button on the side that you pressed to open it, with short smooth cushion inserts at each end to hold and guard the pencil when stored.
Got it because I don't like plastics because metal is awesome
Second, it feels better to write with this than a cheap plastic pencil
Unfortunately, this pencil does have one significant flaw: the tip of the pencil is very fragile and liable to break if dropped
The company is not responsible for my butter fingers, obviously, but if one drop makes these pencils unusable, I say you're paying a lot of money for design flaws.
It has a hefty weight, so one bad drop can permanently damage the sleeve, rendering it useless
The pencil has real heft, balanced perfectly and looks like it could take a drop from a 10 story building
