Reviews around music (5.00 of 5)

  • The unit provide safe storage as well as hours of great music always at you finger tip
  • It has a much smoother changing mechanism, controls are logical, and the music sounds excellent
  • (I've never used the Sony 300 disc player), and I've found it quite suitable for playing soft background music at parties we've hosted, even with the constant CD shuffling that random play requires

Reviews around way (5.00 of 5)

  • A great way tostore and have ready to play all of my CD'S.An improvement would be if while playing one could remove and clean or add a CD
  • If the CD happens to have CD+Text on it (or you don't mind burning a new copy of each CD in your collection with the text added), the Pioneer will display the text, but you still can't search and select music in a convenient way.
  • iPods are a great portable way to listen to music.

Reviews around buy (5.00 of 5)

  • What a great buy.
  • A great buy!
  • While it works well playing store-bought CD's, it has an issue now with some CD's that I created.

Reviews around load (5.00 of 5)

  • if you're patient enough--load in some info on each CD
  • the other key factor is an easy one disc load which separates this 301 changer from a 300 or 400 changer and makes life easy

Reviews around changer (4.26 of 5)

  • Having this changer has put the fun back into CD listening
  • Unfortunately, the changer only seems to support the 'title' field.
  • (they are not high end gear, though).Other reviews have complained the changer is slow:
  • This changer sounds good and once you get it going on all random, works
  • However, this amazing 300 (+1) CD changer is the way to go with a home stereo system.

Reviews around sound (4.03 of 5)

  • I read reviews on this one (Pioneer), and despite many that said the sound was awful, I figured I have an awesome (expensive)
  • This CD Player excedes my expectations, the sound and ease of control is excellent
  • The sound is great and the speed is good for the volume of CD's stored
  • Other reviews have mentioned hollow sound from this changer when using the analog connection, and I'm inclined to agree.
  • I might point out that since this needs an amplifier and speakers and does not function on its own, that your other components have to produce good sound in order for the CD player to sound good

Reviews around quality (4.03 of 5)

  • The machine is easy enough to learn how to use, and the sound quality is fine
  • The sound quality is also better than my previous Sony player.
  • I have to crank it full blast to even hear this thing; even then the quality of sound is poor - like a child's toy!
  • The Pioneer changes discs fast , user-friendly remote/jog dial and good sound quality when played through the Digital output
  • The quality is wonderful and the price was very attractive

Reviews around feature (3.86 of 5)

  • They might not seem like a big deal, but having used those features for 10 years I would really miss them.1
  • With so many CDs in the changer, an on-screen display of the CD titles without manually entering them seemed like a good feature.
  • The big advantage with the player is the Random feature
  • I chose it over a Sony 300 disc player at the time, the deciding factor being that the Pioneer supports the time remaining feature on the playing track, when selected, whereas the Sony player did not support the feature
  • One of the most important features in my application was loading time

Reviews around use (3.86 of 5)

  • My only concer is that the unit can stand up to consistent use
  • Additionally, comparing this to my 15 year old model, the older model had the capability of manually entering CD names and artists so its search feature could be used on any CD
  • They are still available used for about the same price on Amazon
  • More and more CDs support that now, and I've always burned CDRs using that feature, inputting the data (including track titles) when the original disc doesn't include it
  • They might not seem like a big deal, but having used those features for 10 years I would really miss them.1

Reviews around unit (3.53 of 5)

  • I think it was a handsomer unit, in addition, the LCDs being yellowish rather than the glaring hot white of the Sony
  • Contacting customer service to determine what if any errors I made I was informed that the unit must be faulty and to return it to the store where I purchased it
  • Easy to use, load, unfortunately however, it requires an receiving unit to broadcast the sound.
  • this unit worked for about 30 minutes and then broke

Reviews around product (3.44 of 5)

  • Pros: in addition to those just described, we bought this product frankly because it fit our audio-visual cabinet.
  • I do not need the headache; it gets returned and my search continues for a more reliable product.
  • I would recommend this product more than the Sony gigachanger.
  • It took 20 plus phone calls to get the Sony company to take back their defective product.
  • This product is highly misrepresenting

Reviews around cd (3.22 of 5)

  • More and more CDs support that now, and I've always burned CDRs using that feature, inputting the data (including track titles) when the original disc doesn't include it
  • However, this amazing 300 (+1) CD changer is the way to go with a home stereo system.
  • Love my replacement for a Sony 400 cd changer that broke only a few years after purchase
  • After a couple of hours cataloging and inserting all my cds I was looking forward to sitting and listening and learning what my player can do and after only the second cd change the machine jammed, the carousel would not turn, so I was forced to unscrew the case to remove the jammed cd.
  • With so many CDs in the changer, an on-screen display of the CD titles without manually entering them seemed like a good feature.
