wide-angle view is what you desire (ground level shot of the plaza in front of Forbidden City, eijing), there are few affordable alternatives with respectable quality for Nikon shooters.

It shoots wide enough to create beautiful, striking shots, focuses rapidly amd accurately, and the VR helps a lot for shooting in low light.

This is now the lens that typically sits on my camera, because it encourages (sort of requires) shots that are taken very close to your subjects, a relationship that is reflected in the images themselves.

Acts as an ultra wide angle lens, and NOT as a fisheye lens (which has great distortion).

The distortion is manageable, but really isn't the main purpose of an ultrawide to figure out how to take interesting pictures using distortion to your advantage?

Images are clear and virtually distortion free with with my Nikon D3300.

15mm works well for real estate without too much of a fish eye effect

I ended up returning and getting a sigma contemporary 17-50mm lens instead which i love!

Very close tho as good as the equivalent Sigma 3.5 10-20mm, but probably about a third as big
