The Rokinon is dead sharp at f/2.8 on the XE-1, and its well-known mustache distortion can be corrected with Photo Ninja's distortion tools
I also own a Sigma 24mm f1.4 ART lens and although the Sigma is more than twice as expensive, I don't believe it does as good a job as the Rokinon in taking pictures of the stars.
A strong value and well made lens at the ultra-wide end, given it's manual focus as well as mild distortion constraints, one thing the Rokinon can do very well is time-lapse: capture sunsets, moonlight, starlight, clouds, and great colors along the horizon, leveraging the AE-chip that will adjust metering according to changing light conditions.
Many budget wide angle lenses will have this problem, so let’s not kill Rokinon for it
True to its claimed improvement for focus ability, this Rokinon/Samyang works with all of our Nikon cameras (D800 (FX), D3200 (DX), D300s (DX), D40X (DX)) and focus is accomplished through these cameras' range-finders
While this wide focus adjustment range is a nice engineering achievement, in close shots (especially one meter or closer as well as in low light conditions), it however becomes difficult to see which point is in focus since in the small view-finders literally everything appears in focus
it were AF and priced higher, it would still be a very good lens/value.
Not as sharp as I'd like, as my kit lense are much sharper.
That strikes me as so odd that it's probably something I'm not doing right

There is some distortion around the edges, but takes crisp shots overall.
We were able take some wonderful and striking shots using this lens and having a long exposure time

In the long run, I am happy I got it - the shots it produces with my D750 are crystal clear and spot on with the color.
This product takes amazing shots and I love it, however, I did return it because it did not function properly with my Nikon D500's auto focus
Color Rendition: On correctly exposed shots, this Rokinon/Samyang produces very beautiful colors, almost comparable to most of my FX Nikon lenses (except my 85mm/F1.4 prime), especially maintaining the D800's extraordinary color depth and contrast capabilities

This isn't Zeiss quality, but it's a very fine "fisheye" lens with minimal color fringing and barrel distortion
Lens has very good color rendition, is sharp, resists flares and performs well with high dynamic range cameras.
Everything worked great on my copy out of the box, no fine tune or anything (unlike my Nikon 50 and 85 1.8G lenses that both needed this). If you've been doing your research on a lens in this focal length, then you know what you're getting and what you're giving up with this lens
One of my favorite Nikon lenses is an old 16mm fisheye from about 1977, I think
Unfortunately, at this point there are no available PC lenses made that can be fitted directly to micro 4/3rds cameras, and ones that can be adapted are not wide enough in coverage to be useful (there is little point in shifting "longish" lenses since the resulting effect would be minimal, and it can be more easily applied later to such images using photo editing software).I ordered the interesting Kipon adapter that permits perspective-control lens-shifting with Nikon-mount 35mm lenses for the purpose of making my own PC lens
Focussing is extremely smooth, very similar to my more expensive Nikon lenses
There are lenses 4 and 5 times more expensive that cannot outperform these
I had read some get reviews for this lens and hoped I could follow, but either I received a bad copy or perhaps not fully compatible with the D750.
So, although I can't speak highly of their quality control, when you do get a good copy, you'll know how special this lens truly is
I have read many reviews that quality control is poor for this lens and you may get a copy with edge sharpness issues, like mine, or you may get a good one
This copy of the lens was very sharp across the frame and even sharp in the extreme corners at f2.8
This lens can be a good lens for you; however, because Rokinon has poor quality control, you may get a good copy ... or not.
