In a few seconds Stick was updating and setup easy to use
An easy setup, a better remote, no buffering, a much better onscreen interface and access to all of my channels makes this new Roku Stick a winner in my book.
Easy Setup, so far so good with both Roku's I purchased.
It was easy setup and unlike the lite one it connects to 5k.
Purchased this Roku Stick for my Patio TV, since I own other Roku products the setup was easy and painless
This works good, sometimes I get a pixelated picture, but most of the time it works great
I get the channels that I want to watch with great picture and sound.
Works very well, has better quality picture than my last one
Only other issue I had was that while Mirroring/Casting from my Surface Pro 4, the picture occasionally would break back to the Roku menu for half a second, and then revert back to casting my desktop
Picture and sound quality is great and very easy set up
If the Spectrum app was better or the remote had channel number buttons, it might have rated 5 stars as it would have been even better for my grandma
I was surprised to know there are all these channels available for free such as ESPN, and movies
It streams Netflix, menus works fast and video generally looks fine, but the unit gets too hot (runs at 86 degrees C IDLE according to the secret menu) and the remote control buttons are harder to push and click very loudly, which is something more subjective but in my case I hate it
I was going to like the features and the channels available
WE WANT, and not a bunch or unneeded channels just to get our favorites
I find that the Roku interface and Remote Control are more user-friendly.
After I got tired of the slow and messy interface of Fire Stick TV, I tried a Roku stick and found a refreshing UI
I have used all the other streaming devices and think the Roku remote and interface are the best of the bunch!
An easy setup, a better remote, no buffering, a much better onscreen interface and access to all of my channels makes this new Roku Stick a winner in my book.
I soon bought the Amazon 4k Fire TV box afterwards and hate the amazon product due to clunky and slow controls and a horrible interface.
The fire stick doesn't support the Spectrum app, so that was a deal breaker
Only problem is on one I am having some issues with Netflix but all other apps work great and even Netflix works on the other one with no issue.
The biggest surprise for me is that apps which were very buggy and poor on the Fire stick (VRV, FXNow, TruTV, and a couple others) have had absolutely no problems on the Roku
Only problem is on one I am having some issues with Netflix but all other apps work great and even Netflix works on the other one with no issue.
I truly believe Amazon intentionally sabotaged the Netflix app on the Fire Stick.
I don't like giving negative reviews, but I feel justified with this product
After some time I'll write a review for that device as well.
I am also going to post this review on the Roku Streaming Stick PLUS.I had noticed that Roku tends to respond quickly to negative amazon reviews....but they usually say "hey, email us, we'd love to help".
I am not going to give a terrible review due to me not liking the product
At the same time, there was a substantial number of positive reviews.
The remote loses its connection with the streaming stick multiple times each month
and it would play again for a few hours and then lose the connection.
When I returned in mid-August, it began losing the Internet connection after a few hours of play.
However, this HD Roku Streaming Stick constantly loses its pairing connection with its Roku remote control
Wifi is not the most reliable option, plugging a dongle into the rear HDMI port of a TV with a power wire hanging off the end does not make for a very solid mechanical connection
I've been using it for months and have had no issues - love it and highly highly recommend to anyone who uses a lot of streaming services.
I also have to add that I've read other postssaying that it doesn't work well/compatibility issues with Netflix , but so far I don't have any problems with that.
Less weird hardware issues, as well (competitor would have weird aliasing with certain apps, video would seem choppy whereas Roku was smoother, competitor product would just lock up requiring a hard reboot).
I'm already pissed that i had to order this Stick to replace my Roku 3 which started having weird audio and video issues that rendered everything unwatchable after only 3 years.
Having to do a return since it seems like a lot of people have this issue and I don't see it being fixed any time soon
Since both my wife and I are computer addicted through our work, we get any news we want online
When it works I like it
My wife and I had a small issue with our 55+ apartment since we "downsized" in 2015...there weren't any cable TV connections in the kitchen like our previous address
I currently own three Roku streaming stick 3600x model and have a good experience other than the random uninvited reboot which drives the wife crazy.
with no hiccupsthe Roku had some dropped connections, failure to update, but even more frustrating - even after completing the 'update' process after the 'install,' very poor connectivity and pixelation of the image - one of the reasons i returned the not-ready-for-prime-time HDHomeRun device, a real beta-hardware and software vaporware mess under OS Xthis device is pretty slick; basically you:1. plug the stick into an HDMI port2
Coupled with DirectTV Offer made it hard to pass up since we had dropped Cable about 5 yrs previous.
I read the user reviews, with the only persistent complaint being a random dropping of the wifi signal.
I also have some sound issues when trying to use headphones, the sound drops out occasionally for no reason and goes back to the tv
I purchased an HDMI extension cable (Roku's "free" extender "out of stock") which improved reception but with "low signal" indication and 'freezes' and 'dropped' WiFi connections

I've only tried Youtube TV, which I really like, but since they don't support it at this time I'll give Hulu and Sling a try.
It can’t even find the network and the one time it miraculously did, I logged in, tried to access Hulu and of course, it lost the signal again
Bought this Roku because our smart TV did not support Hulu Live
