Reviews around set (5.00 of 5)

  • I've got some smaller complaints, but overall, it's a really good set
  • - I wanted a great set today that will be ready for PS5 in the near future
  • The vivid setting for Into the Spider-Verse was fantastic
  • All I can comment on is how good the set is today, one week after its release
  • Like it so much we bought a smaller set for the bedroom.

  • Setup reasonably easy, not crazy about the remote but will get use to it
  • Setup reasonably easy, not crazy about the remote but will get use to it
  • *update 11/4/2020 new TV arrived, setup was easy and the amazon Customer Service was great
  • The Hi-res sound bar is fun, and with Arc channel on both units, setup is easy, and I can use the TV remote to control both units
  • I watched some old hockey highlights on YouTube and motion held up great.-Very easy setup.

Reviews around color (4.70 of 5)

  • The picture is so clear and bright, the colors are brilliant
  • But in HDR 4k content the colors and brights look really nice
  • Lastly, this tv suffers from terrible color banding
  • The colors, refresh rate, and brightness (even before HDR) are just excellent
  • My favorite setting is Vivid as it brings out the bright colors

Reviews around interface (4.30 of 5)

  • Overall I love the set and am happy with it thanks to the fantastic image quality, innovative audio, and clean interface.
  • Android TV is a great interface, super responsive and with tons of apps
  • However, this TV has an excellent smart interface and has more than enough hardware to run it
  • I do enjoy the Android interface over the one in my old Samsung.
  • Buyers beware as I believe Sony’s lack of communication is very disappointing and as noted the TV cannot perform as advertised

Reviews around hdmi (4.18 of 5)

  • HDMI 2.1 will support VVR with 4K 120 (with the right HDMI cable - 48gbps)
  • But for the price and being promised a HDMI 2.1 4K 120hz, I'm sorely disappointed
  • It turns the TV on and loads up Netflix!-It supports HDMI 2.1, but I have no sources to test it.-It is also ready for next gen broadcast, but that's not in my area yet
  • I also bought this TV with hopes it would support HDMI 2.1 for next gen gaming (although this was not a dealbreaker)
  • Additional HDMI 2.1 features were also promised in future updates that have still not been released.

Reviews around quality (4.16 of 5)

  • There are also many people having issues with blurry poor image quality in 120hz mode
  • It’s a good TV that offers great AV quality for a pretty decent price.
  • Amazing picture quality and a lot of great features specially with the android tv built in
  • If the tv could break with such ease doing nothing more ordinary than holding it to insert the hdmi cable, then it is either faulty or of incredibly poor quality.
  • Do not enable Sony and their poor quality control to keep peddling these TVs.

Reviews around price (4.08 of 5)

  • The bug with Motion Smoothing is super annoying and is really not something a television of this price (or any price) should have going wrong with it
  • It’s a good TV that offers great AV quality for a pretty decent price.
  • This is a TV that if got at the right price is huge deal and will be a source of joy for years to come!
  • Yep, Sony dropped the price $250 suddenly (3 days after my return window which just added salt to the wound).Sony lied
  • great.+The price is a steal

Reviews around sound (3.88 of 5)

  • I dropped my review by 1 star as this item was sold to me as “PS5 Ready” and there is an issue with the PS5 losing sound to my
  • Again, I am not an audiophile, but I wanted great sound to compliment my
  • The sound coming from the built in speakers is crisp and clear
  • But here is to hoping!-Some of the apps you download tend to lose sound or crash, i don't have that issue with apps when running on my xbox.
  • The picture quality is excellent and the sound is great

Reviews around feature (3.86 of 5)

  • Works great for movies as well with plenty of features to get the best picture quality, including upscale feature for 8k (not the best, but it's definitely noticeable)
  • Please be aware that the highly advertised features for this TV are false
  • Great customization features and perfect picture and sound quality
  • While it may sound like a trivial feature, it certainly comes in handy and we’re becoming more and more used to it
  • So the Samsung, upon further inspection, was in some ways a downgrade than the prior year's model which is disappointing-also lacking some other features after i did a ton of researching on rtings and reddit

Reviews around sony (3.12 of 5)

  • Sony has canceled the updates and the one update they did release (4K@120) is broken.
  • This Sony supports all the new features and the picture is a real step up from my old 4k tv.
  • the picture rocks and I do trust Sony for build quality
  • crappy Sony software built into the TV that causes the audio issues
  • This tv is fantastic Sony is just slow at rolling out the firmware updates for gaming

Reviews around reset (2.54 of 5)

  • I had to hard reset it because the sound cuts out randomly, and when I shut it off with the remote, it must have a "quick start" feature like new Xbox's where they don't really shut down when you turn them off, but go into "hibernation" mode, so only hard resetting actually makes it
  • n’t top the picture!
  • Finally got through and they walked me through a hard reset and now it seems to be working.
  • It also often hard resets when using the built in media player while watching a movie from the USB port, about every hour it'll produce a loud noise, then hard reset
  • I find myself having to do a hard reset of my tv quite often

Reviews around advertise (2.54 of 5)

  • Did a few weeks of researh and Amazon had the best deal on this incredible TV.It is as good as advertise
  • Buyers beware as I believe Sony’s lack of communication is very disappointing and as noted the TV cannot perform as advertised
  • The set up process is really easy and straightforward as
  • Starting with False advertising: https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/articles/00246472 updated for 2021
  • Not because of the bugs, but because of False advertising and lack of updates with quality control

Reviews around screen (2.37 of 5)

  • The screen freezes and returns you to the Google Android and Sony load screens.
  • The first order had a bad screen, likely shipping issue
  • So, no, this is not the "best" screen quality on the market
  • Looks like something went right through the box and broke the screen
  • However, it's the best screen quality you're ever going to actually be able to perceive

Reviews around connection (2.33 of 5)

  • n’t work out
  • And not just loses connection, the adapter refuses to turn back on unless I unplug the tv
  • In August it started having 2 problems: (1) lost WiFi connection ans (2) randomly turning on the audio
  • and then it loses the cable connection
  • The biggest issue i have is the wifi loses connection literally every day or every other day

Reviews around point (2.33 of 5)

  • Even though the picture is great when watching quality 4K streams, there are more negative points than positive points about this tv
  • n’t top the picture!
  • Even though the picture is great when watching quality 4K streams, there are more negative points than positive points about this tv
  • Meanwhile other manufacturers (like Nvidia) have in fact removed it from their releases, because you can do that, so Sony is really just pointing fingers and shrugging.

Reviews around know issue (2.05 of 5)

  • Spoke with Sony and they said this is a known issue with the 900H model and that they are working on a software fix but could not give a date for the update.
  • It promised 4K 120, earc, VRR, and AALM
  • THis is a known issue mentioned all over the internet with Sony TVs.

Reviews around input lag (1.95 of 5)

  • n’t work out
  • The set up process is really easy and straightforward as
  • Completely impressed with this TV for PC gaming, input lag in graphics or game mode is around 10-17ms while still keeping a beautifully contrasted picture.
  • Though input lag feels nonexistent once you tell the TV it has a PC connected to it
  • Default looks a little washed out but after very simple adjustments it really pops! For gaming this is a great choice because of low input lag, hdmi 2.1, and of course it just looks

Reviews around motion blur (1.85 of 5)

  • (What I mean by motion blur, and this bugs the heck out of me, is when gaming, walking or panning the camera in a third or first person game, the background gets completely blurry until you stop the camera.
  • Problems I had with the more expensive Vizio and Samsung were the sound syncing and motion blur.
  • n’t feel comfortable with this in the long run
  • And finally, Protip: The "Game" setting actually seems to increase the motion blur, which bothers me, but reduces input lag, so take your pick.

Reviews around ad (1.80 of 5)

  • If you're not a Google home enthusiast, I don't think you're out of luck as most everything is going to work as you'd expect even if you had some other type of system
  • The set up process is really easy and straightforward as
  • Buyers beware as I believe Sony’s lack of communication is very disappointing and as noted the TV cannot perform as advertised
  • I've actually boycotted Sony for the past 30 years or so as much as I could (with a few exceptions) because of the way they like to fragment the market (uh, think Apple) and not really provide any competitive or cost benefit in doing so
  • I don’t care for the intrusive ads

Reviews around corner (1.44 of 5)

  • The only negative I can see right now is the corners are darker on bright scenes
  • My tv panel has some uniformity issues on the corners with noticeable vignetting on the top corners
  • AKA the corners get a little dark
  • Dark corners on the screen
  • : Common with LED TVs is that the corners are slightly dim

Reviews around wifi (1.00 of 5)

  • The WiFi is pure garbage
  • The biggest issue i have is the wifi loses connection literally every day or every other day
  • On several occasions it has lost its connection to my home wifi network and simply will not reconnect - and it won't even let me try to restore the connection, but instead when I got into the TV's network settings I find it has disabled the wifi altogether and won't turn it back on.
  • It is not worth the picture having to deal with their horrible WiFi technology.
