The BEST part is that it produces superb quality photos!
: The quality is good, but I initially had some ideas about how I'd rework my scans that I've had to scale back - your mileage will probably vary
(And that's mostly because it takes the Air Copy about 10/15 seconds to boot-up the Wi-Fi signal when you first turn it on.)As for scan quality, scan quality is pretty amazing

I'm not able to get a reliably consistent photo print scan with this product, and it certainly isn't up to the task of creating a permanent high-quality digital duplicate of photo prints.
Nothing is pixelated, and when I set the quality to High Resolution (you can set it to standard if you're just doing non-important scans and the scanning goes much more quickly), it can be printed out again without any loss of quality
I have a Fujitsu scan snap for my desktop which I absolutely adore, and use almost daily
I would say the scans are actually pretty good, My biggest complaint is that the scanner itself is pretty picky about what type of pictures it will pull through
Overall, if you are looking for a portable solution that will work gracefully with your smart phone, this is it
I really wanted to like the ION Air Copy portable scanner as a "pretty damn good" solution for putting retired parents to work digitizing shoeboxes full of family photos... but it seems like it's best suited for receipt and document scanning duties.
If you want a truly portable solution, the Air Copy is a good one
I have also tested another scanning unit, the Canon image formula P208 scan-tini personal document scanner, which was supposed to be a portable solution

When it starts scanning, it looks terrible, but the software corrects it to make image good!It works for me now, only time will tell if this was a good $130 investment.
Actual device works well, scans quickly and images look solid

The ION Air Copy portable scanner seems like a perfect fit... although it doesn't scan to lossless TIFF, 600dpi optical resolution is "good enough" for prints sized 3x5 and larger... and usability couldn't be easier!
Other than that, though, I would definitely recommend the Air Copy to pretty much anyone who needs a portable scanner
I have always liked my Air Copy until I purchased my iPad Pro and discovered the Air Copy would not be updated to work with my iPad.

It does a beautiful job and the old photos come out almost better than the original photo
It did a great job of scanning, and while it isn't the fastest scanner in the universe, when I'm on the go, I'm not really that concerned about whether it took six seconds or 10 seconds to scan, as long as it does the job, doesn't jam, and allows me to save the documents to my phone
