This video for us has the best video and pic so far, will post youtube
The stitch line is so obvious, so wide that the pic is not useful at all
So far we enjoy the 360 pics and doing video very much, sturdy camera, and who cares if the flap is open to charge it, seriously, get real.^^^UPDATE^^^^im bypassing the snapbridge app and connected the camera stright to wifes MAC, used keymission utility 360 app
It immediately recognized the camera, and I was able to watch videos and see pics, way clearer than doing it on my mobile! so far so good

When I compared to my theta S, its worse than theta at low light condition but better at outdoor
I got better results from a consumer grade spherical camera
I recommend this camera highly - used wisely, and with forethought, it is a great tool which gives amazing results.
In many ways it was unexceptional in that it performed exactly as I hoped it would and gave me really great results which I could only achieve thanks to its lightweight, rugged and waterproof abilities
so I decide to download the SnapBridge app for both OSX and Windows to see if would get better results getting to my files
Personally, I’ve found the best way to display these images on a website in any kind gallery fashion is to use a plugin on the WordPress platform which seems to work well (you can see examples on my website)
360 degree images don't work out of the box so it is a pain to share them the right way on better sites
But if you are looking for a pricey way to post crappy warped and flattened panos to facebook then
There is not any easy way to share your photos ( which are better compared to Videos ) or videos with your friends – family
Seems to be relatively easy to download images, but it does ask you every time if you want to connect to WiFi saying it's faster than Bluetooth which is annoying - just connect to WiFi automatically or come up with a better way.
With the Ricoh Theta S you have to use the free “RICOH THETA” app to re-encode.- on the Mac [or PC] to preview the video you use the KeyMission 360/170 Utility
The Theta takes a waterproof case, which works, but the case distorts the scene and the stitching, bringing the imagery down to a just- acceptable view
However, for posting on the fly, during an adventure, the Theta is best
Durable, sleek and compact design (with shock absorbing case)Transferring images to your laptop - quick and intuitive
Aside from my rant, the camera does offer some potential as a good action camera since the industrial design and build are indeed really good
The camera is marketed as an action cam (waterproof, shockproof) however it has gyroscopic correction applied to the output video which makes anything you film with any g-forces unwatchable
A 360 action camera in a compact design, what's not to love? After fighting with it to try to make it
A weatherproof power jack for external batteries would be a great design change for Nikon
Outdoor movies look decent to good while low lighting could be better
Outdoor full lighting was pretty good with everything in the center of the lens showing up perfectly while the periphery was just nothing more than a blur
so why have the app?Recording without the app: green and orange lights are very dim and hard to see during the day
That being said, when compared to the LG360, Ricoh Theta S and a few others in the same price range, I find the image quality of the KM360 to be in the upper tier, at least in decent lighting conditions
Looking at the result the movies shot outside with good lighting provided good results, while the low lighting ones were grainy and unimpressive - think about your first cell phone videos
Here's what i've learned from now having the camera;------APP & Connecting-----First of all, I own the Gear 360 and now the KeyMission 360.The Gear 360 is hit and miss when connecting to the app on my S7.
Another huge improvement Nikon made over Ricoh is the KeyMission’s weatherproof and waterproof capabilities
Overall, I like the KeyMission 360, although there's clearly a lot of room for improvement, especially in the mobile app software
When I compared to my theta S, its worse than theta at low light condition but better at outdoor
This leaves the KeyMission useful only for outdoor in broad daylight
I mean c'mon most cameras come with a small card so the damn thing is useable out of box.
The camera is marketed as an action cam (waterproof, shockproof) however it has gyroscopic correction applied to the output video which makes anything you film with any g-forces unwatchable
It uses WiFi AND bluetooth, it can swap between them as needed for performance reasons, but while you might think thats a good thing its implementation is horrible
and when i start recording i drop the wifi connection.. which is a good thing if it keeps it's heat
Another thing I really don't like is that I am in all the movies
Having own a GoPro Hero4, I feel the Hero4 takes a little better video and still images than the Nikon
Camera is great, rugged, and produces good quality video for an entry level 360
It cannot even run videos smoothly ( my only 20 second video was super grainy, looked like taken from VGA which I could not rotate in 360 smoothly and it kept on hanging up 3-4 times )
Samsung camera is a quality piece of equipment, MKM 360 is joke played on consumers who don't know how good 360 video can look.
If you have an important video shoot, DO NOT USE THIS CAMERA WITHOUT
It isn't quite as sharp as the images from my action video camera (Garmin Virb Ultra), still great images for viewing on a tablet or phone -- not as good on a big screen
even IF the hardware and resulting images WERE good (which they are not--the stitch line is 100% visible in just about every scenario I've tried), it would still be a deal breaker
With how poor the images are you will be looking to try to tweak the
Still images leave a lot to be desired, but video works great.
The Gear 360 is around $350 and from what I've seen produces better images.
The stitching could and hopefully will be improved, but learning how to use the camera mitigates that issue.
The Theta takes a waterproof case, which works, but the case distorts the scene and the stitching, bringing the imagery down to a just- acceptable view
The stitching is so bad that an undergrad taking a computer vision class could do better.
I just wanted to puke every time I had to see the nauseating stitching on my computer
The stitching is not as good as the Ricoh but that camera was too delicate and not weather friendly like this one is
I'll wait if Nikon Update with new firmware for better connectivity and improve software editing, if not, I'll might return it or just watch video as flat non VR which looks better than GoPro HERO5 Black.
The bad:SnapBridge application functionalityClumsy connectivityWi-Fi connectivity keeps droppingDownloads don’t seem to workNo sharing to social networks
Connectivity is fine
The connectivity is so bad the remote shooting features are almost useless
It lacks support, connectivity is a nightmare, support for this product is even worse
Unfortunately the software available for the camera is not nearly as polished
- I rather have an now unstable software than waiting an other 5 month
However sharing the video as a plain video file without having the Nikon software on your PC for sure is not viewer friendly at all and just about dizzying like walking through a house of mirrors with funny shapes and distortions
When I compared to my theta S, its worse than theta at low light condition but better at outdoor
The hardware might be great, but the problem is the software
Here is my review, though there are several great reviews posted, but I will keep it sweet and simple
and I have never returned a piece of camera gear that I have bought and I tend to only post positive reviews
As I began to plan my review of the KeyMission, I checked Amazon and was shocked to see so many negative comments and reviews
Let's see, how they manage to hold recommended retail price in a coming few months with all of those negative reviews
Some of the negative reviews have been about Nikon’s stitching; photographers report that they can see the seams when the KeyMission creates the sphere, but for me that’s not a valid complaint
It simply is unusable with an iPhone 6.If you examine the photos via usb cable the quality is very bad you can see the poor low light performance and horrible stitching.
I hope Nikon updates the firmware and adress the poor performance of the camera and also enhance the phone app
Low-light performance is somewhat pathetic, though - perhaps, sensor/optics limitation; •Removable battery/microSD card - majority of 360 cameras, available on market, lack at least one of aforementioned items;Cons
There's definitely a stitching issue up close and low light performance is poor
can’t believe its Nikon quality Video : lets divide it in to low light performance and bright light performance
I wasted literaly hours getting it to pair with my iPhone 7
I wasted hours, finally got it to connect by reading other reviews.
I just burned three hours of my valuable time trying to get your device to work
I also spent a good hour on the phone with customer service to see if they could help me get it to connect to my Galaxy S7, but even though she was nice and did try, we couldn't get it to work

Placing lenses in a way they are perpendicular to the sun (to avoid difference in white balance in two stitched halves) b. Keeping distance of at least 1.5 meters from an objects, which you are trying to shoot - it would help to avoid that ugly distortion
May be fun, if that's all you are looking for, but stitch lines, really bad compression, low resolution, and weird distortion .. unacceptable!
However sharing the video as a plain video file without having the Nikon software on your PC for sure is not viewer friendly at all and just about dizzying like walking through a house of mirrors with funny shapes and distortions
When I compared to my theta S, its worse than theta at low light condition but better at outdoor
I recommend a Theta S, its better and cheaper

Difficult to use, interface prompts sometimes wrong, tough to pair, lacks user friendly feel
I recommend a Theta S, its better and cheaper
When I compared to my theta S, its worse than theta at low light condition but better at outdoor
Sharing an entire scene of what we’re seeing on social media outlets like Facebook works for a moment, but users will find it hard to scroll backwards through memories, going through old posts to try to find a really cool photo or video
What if I want to use the STILL images taken in time lapse as individual still images?
Its video quality looks very crappy and doesn't even come close to the 4K time lapse from my phones
I take 360 pictures from set points throughout the residence and import the pictures into a floor plan that allows the client to select dated images and view spaces in a 'time lapse' format
I recommend a Theta S, its better and cheaper
I should have direct access to photo, video, time lapse, 360, 180 but you have to access a settings menu
The interface is comical, you can't even select the install location (since I use an SSD for my system, I install my software on a different drive) - and the manual does not even mention the desktop app
Sadly the snapbridge app is very poor, bad interface, layout and design
