i did 4 star instead of 5 was that the initial "easy setup" didnt work, it got stuck 2 times i tried it on detecting network settings

This is a really impressive wifi router online speed is amazing setup a breeze interesting tools

The setup was very easy, the only part that sucked was reconnecting all of my smart plugs, echo dots, etc.. to the new network

Setup was quite easy although I do have much experience with networking hardware.

Easy setup and holds speeds through the thick, wooden walks if our 2000+sf home.

We needed an upgraded WiFi router for this and bought this unit based on the good reviews and reasonable price

Excellent Web interface ( and a smart phone app) to configure router settings

It was easy to set up, has an intuitive interface, and has not given me any trouble since I installed it

firmware supports scheduled rebooting of the router and the best web user interface I have ever seen.

Extremely easy to setup - Has great range throughout my apartment - The interface to change the settings from default factory programming was extremely user friendly in my opinion

Good news is the interface is pretty easy to access and navigate to find those settings, bad news is every time you want to change ANYTHING in the router settings, the whole router has to reset

Great ASUS router with great WiFi signal strength for faster and reliable data service

The only issue I had was the 2.4g was slow but after changing settings to 20MHz bandwidth only and N only it resolved that issue

The signal strength on 2.4GHz and 5GHz were excellent however the 5GHz band would randomly drop out while 2.4GHz and Ethernet port work properly.

Solid signal strength throughout the house, wifi download speeds improved from 56k to 120+mb in most locations

For the price, it promised good signal strength, range and the bandwidth I needed for my 400/25 internet speed

I did call ASUS tech support but they wanted me to troubleshoot it even more by sending a log and situational

I didn't have to call or email tech support or even call my tech person to help me

I called Asus tech support which was absolutely useless, but the problem was easily addressed with a Google search.

Tech support wasted an hour of my time, could not fix the issue, wanted to have a "level 5" tech work on the problem, but for a fee.

the router automatically performed 2 firmware updates (in once month, this is a healthy indicator Asus is actively improving the device).The parental control feature is very simple, and basic too

Currently, as this is a new device and ASUS is still actively supporting it, this is a minor issue as the OEM firmware has decent features.

I have gigabit internet and wanted to make sure I had a good enough router that my wireless devices that can utilize a 5G band could take full advantage of my internet speed

I bought this in hopes of improving my network stability after adding a bunch of smart home devices

It's the only router I've ever encountered that automatically disconnects idle devices from the wi-fi and calls it a feature

I bought this Asus router expecting to improve the coverage in the upper floor bedrooms

Very good coverage and have not had to touch it since I configured it.

I was expecting to see superior coverage and performance from this Asus router

Really nice router, The dual bands make it great to get strong wifi across the entire house

The 5G wifi is horrible

Now the PS4 in the living room doesn't lag due to a crummy wifi connection, I can even run the steamlink and play Rocket League without issue which is pretty impressive.

No more headaches from family members complaining about slow wifi

I have only had it for about a month, but I can say that that from day one there was a significant improvement to signal and download/upload speeds

This seems like it should be a great router, but I'm just not getting decent WiFi speeds

Thought it would be better than my old router, getting slower speeds from my internet.

This is in the media / coat closet in the corner of the first floor and I get crazy range and speed compared to my old ASUS RT-ACRH13

Anyways now we're getting an excellent wifi connection in the house now and lightening fast speeds after hooking this little baby up from ASUS

Delivers awesome range and consistent speeds throughout the house.

I own the ASUS RT-AC68U and thought I would move to this one as it claimed to have better range.

However, when using the 5GHz, the range is VERY poor, -80dBm with 2 walls in between at any point (less than 10 meters/33 feet distance), and hence my 4 stars

Good range, it routs just fine, but too damn complicated and dare I say overly so.?!

So right after I added the update below, I started having an issue where all of the android phones in my house will randomly loose data connection (not all at the same time) to the router (they still see it as the wifi symbol is still on but the LTE symbol will also light up).

We typically have 7 devices connected, and connection has been seamless with no drop-offs seen yet.

Extremely fast, I use tons of devices and never have issues connecting or losing connection

The first sign was losing my Ethernet port connections than a few days later, no wifi Internet connections
