ALL BEWARE of ( router 2-Pack) - Just spent 2 hours with Google support to find out you cannot have 2 google routers to create a mesh network ..
I contacted Google support and have been going back and forth with them for over two
Took an hour of explaining to google support until they finally understood there is a 2 pack of routers that only amazon sells (they kept trying to tell me I had 1 router and a point).
I contacted Google support and went through the tests that they suggested
Update - very frustrating- Update from google that replied to my ticket - now Google Support sent email saying that 2 routers can be set up as mesh network - this was sent to me after I returned the two pack ..
After (4) hours of troubleshooting with Google Tech Support I eventually had to take the Google Nest WiFi Routers offline and recreate my Network from scratch using only the Google WiFi points.
Intermittent connectivity and even worse tech support
No instructions, and 2 hours on the phone with their tech support.
Tech support is non-existent, but with the way Google made these units, one does not need it at all
The app will immediately crash and the tech-support from Google is next to useless
The wireless range is significantly better than before, and latency is noticeably reduced especially when many devices are streaming HD video (4K60fps and 1080p60fpsHDR)
It was supposed to improve my internet range and connection speed but as also indicated by others below the opposite is true
While before with Google wifi, which is supposedly having a weaker range, it worked perfectly (I have placed everything at the same distance as before)
My Apple router performed flawless and thought this router was going to get better range
I will hesitate to ever buy an expensive Google product again with how bad these are.
It's nice when a manufacturer considers the aesthetics along with the functionality of a product - a prime example has been Apple - their products are easy to use, work well and also look great!
Very good product, it has greatly improved the speed of my home network, and the WiFi signal coverage is very comprehensive
**" error, or very slow connection when they do connect
The network speed is pretty good and the connection is extremely stable.
The first minor issue was to FIRST download the Google Home App while the older Wifi Router was still working, i.e. good connection key issue is the Google requires an
I am now rocking to the beats of "Great Connection" on my network points.
Within 24 hours all WiFi points were showing weak connection despite the fact that (2) of the WiFi points had an unobstructed line of sight path to the primary Nest router.
App lacks option to customized Wifi settings as other mesh competitors.- No webpage to access Wifi; only the App- Nest Wifi outlet plug could have a better
It lacks options from the Google WiFi app such as update notes, the advanced network settings ALWAYS requires me to open it twice before I can change anything, some parts of the app aren't visually consistent (seems to be copy/paste from the Google WiFi app), and the overall UI design feels like a step backward
The Home and Wifi apps are convenient, but don't offer all of the way-too-difficult configuration options of past router interfaces
Google products is overrated you can get cheaper and better option with the TP link deco m9
Two Router Combo that is sold by Amazon is much better option than Router+point combo for many reasons.1) Great WiFi Speeds over Mesh system as the hardware is the same in both.2
I bought these units because I thought it would be more cost effective than the more expensive WIFI 6 units however, if you are thinking about making the move to WIFI 6 it may be cheaper because you will need less units.
Two units solved my problem and the signal is VERY strong everywhere, upstairs and downstairs
I do agree with a commenter that stated these new units were troublesome when they were first released back in Nov 2019.
Took me 3 hours to install the Zen Wi-Fi... turns out it was a defective unit.
It appears that a few months back, Google released a firmware that made previously well-performing Nest Wifi units start performing not so great (signal mysteriously dropping to 12-15Mbps)
All of a sudden I was getting 230mbps wifi which is the same as my hard wired speed!
I have 2 routers hooked up, both hardwired and both sending 100% full strength signal as wifi even though they are completely across the house (where a regular non hard wired point wouldn't be able to communicate with a router).
I am paying for 200mbps from cable company but getting 230-240 on all my tests, hard wired and wifi, which is amazing and anywhere from 3-5 times what I was getting.
TV’s that were hard wired now ran perfectly fine on Wifi.
I have gigabit internet and get about 900 Mbps hard wired, only 300 Mbps or so sitting 1 meter from the router using WIfi
