Grado SR60i Prestige Series Headphones
Product Description
The SR60s produce brilliant sound for a low cost. The SR60s have a flexible, soft vinyl headband. The headband and earpieces are connected by metal height adjusters, which adjust the height of your head with the center of your ear...
I own several pairs of headphones that are more expensive, and while the Grado SR-60s are not the best pair of headphones I own, I consider them the best value
Good value but lacks some of the fidelity of my other higher-priced headphones.
Pros: These cans really are a great value for the sound
While the SENNHEISER HD212 were not the best at the time, they were a good value for the price point
During that time I've slapped them on maybe a hundred other sets of ears, always getting the "no way
I have a fairly large head, and they don't press on my ears in any painful way, even after a long listening session.
It doesn't dominate the mix the way it does with Beats, but this is a good thing if you are listening to a wide range of music
Definitely a good buy for the price and a great way to introduce someone to quality sound.
The cans are really difficult to adjust correctly, and the way the cables are arranged makes it really difficult to wear these headphones comfortably without having the cable brushing up against your neck or twisting around in some weird fashion
Frankly, I have difficulty discerning any significant difference between the SR60 and the much more expensive SR325 Grado Headphones which sell for around $300
I would strongly recommend Grado SR60 headphones to anyone serious about music
The Grado Prestige Series SR-60i Padded Headphones were delivered as promised.
However, keep in mind these are the most comfortable Grado headphones
Grado cans are good, but the SR-60 is not really high end sound -- not to
wow another pair of headphones i will be sending back because i just dont like the sound quality I have sent more then 8 headphones back (sorry amazon!
This is absolutely the best pair of headphones I have ever had
I too had read the reviews, and I already had been using a good pair of senheiser headphones
Would NOT recommend as your primary or only pair of headphones as they are open back and not the 'best' out there even for the price, but to buy into the Grado family of sound they are the perfect entry way
If you are looking for a great pair of headphones for a truly amazing price, look no further, these are the headphones for you.
I'm moving on to more expensive Sennheisers as I'm not so broke as to put up with
You could say that it does not block surrounding noise well and there is noticeable sound leakage, but I see them as sacrifices in order to grant the best sound possible for an under-$100 set.
Highs are clean and transparent all the way up to my hearing limit (~19K or so last time I checked)
Fortunately, I can use open ear phones with their modest sound leakage in my two environments without fear of disturbing other family members.
The biggest issue over time is the connecting wires to each headphone, as well as to the jack
I don't have the best ear for describing sound, but clarity would be the prime thing.
However, one thing you should be aware of is if you are planning on listening to music with people around, they will hear it loud and clear
Sound and sound quality are generally the least important thing to me when listening to music.
The only bad thing I've noticed about these headphones is that they aren't great for long listening periods (greater than 1.5 hours) without taking a break because they tend to hurt your ears after a while.
Truly amazing sound (though the bass could have been better, but I knew it before I decided to buy it, so no complaints). But, one thing I noticed is that the sound leaks out a lot
But when you get the settings right, you can make them sound almost as good as through a CD player.
If Grado found some way to make these into Closed design to reduce sound leaking out/in, and maybe a bit smaller I think I would nominate them for a nobel prize :)

I decided to go with the less expensive SR-60's and it turns out they are as good as or better than the much more expensive competitors from Grado and Sennheiser.
They feel "cheap"-- they're made of pretty flimsy plastic, and the ear-foam is definitely not durable (as other reviewers have stated)

True, they look kinda cheap (plastic headband and parts), but the sound quality is first rate
If you want to isolate background noise and not have others hear your music get a closed ear set of cans.

I thought that I would be able to turn them up loud enough to drown out background noise, but this is not the case
I have considerable difficulty picking voices out of background noise; and the Army wouldn't take me during the Vietnam War because of my impaired hearing.

and I've heard mention that the sound of these cans is a bit forward and bright, which can be fatiguing during extended listening, but I've never noticed this myself
Personally, they can get a bit uncomfortable after extended wear, but a little
I do have to say that they are a bit uncomfortable at first but its worth it for the good sound and the fact that the pads adjust and soften up after a while
Take a break every hour or two and they won't bother you a bit
The treble can sound a bit harsh at times, depending on the recording, especially for Classical music.
I bought these to replace a pair of decrepit $20 Sonys, and yes, though it shames me, I bought them for an iPod
The Sonys sound "fat" and amplified while the Grados are just clean, clean, clean
These phones blew away my Sonys that I had been using for years
