Sennheiser HD 380 PRO Headphones - 2024 report by Whydis
Sennheiser HD 380 PRO Headphones
style:Headphones
The HD 380 Pro provides an extended frequency response with increased sound level for accurate sound reproduction in all kinds of demanding use.
The tight fit isn’t uncomfortable at all to me, and I have a large head, but I think that helps with the isolation
The sound quality and comfortable fit make these headphones a huge hit.
VERY strange head fit, extremely tight and poorly adjustable headstrap for slightly larger headsizes (my head is faintly larger than average, but smaller than some... these are a bit of a vice grip in my head even after having been broken in).Now that I am used to
The isolation is very good, but it does squeeze your head to get a good fit.
Very comfortable fit with good outside noise cancellation.
I was pleasantly surprised at how good the sound isolation is
They don't have active noise cancelling but rely on good old fashioned closed design and passive isolation
Passive sound isolation is fair, but don't expect to keep a lot of extraneous noise out
These are THE BEST noise isolation headphones I have used to date,
However, if OKAY passive noise isolation is good enough and you want stellar, balanced sound that kicks your listening experience up several notches, these are the headphones for you
so I don't know how they'll handle the exaggerated bass but everything from Coltrane to
While these have good bass, they dont have the best bass I ever heard on headphones
These are not headphones for those of you seeking exciting-sounding highs and skull-rattling bass, these are relatively neutral-sounding, which is the point
Good bass and high frequencies, and good midrange imaging
They sound great for the music I listen to, with rich bass, without being muddy or overpowering
but I feel as though it's an accurate reproduction sound yet not as good as for example a beyerdynamic custom one pro which is twice the
To make things worse the earpads squeak as you move your head around
The 'soft' material looks like it's joined very strongly to the hard plastic
It doesn't feel like cheap plastic and it seems like it would take quite a bit of force to break these, not that I would apply such force
All in all this cans are very sturdy - AND VERY LIGHT - and this again compare to any of the cans i mentioned above - again if it would not be for strong clamping power i would keep them as spare headphones for my Shure 1540 - also Senheiser HD 380 Pro is good as portable - i like the cord and that this cans can be folded and very nice travel case

Coiled cord is mildly infuriating compared to the 'regular' cords on the HD5xx series, but that may be intended for the live production use.
I have tested them on master material and raw, comparing as I said to the other headphones as well as compared them with ADAM A7X monitors and Dynaudio BM6a monitors
I had a few "mainstream" brands that I got rid of because they sounded terrible compared to these cans
So did material by another artist who mixes insanely well compared to me

Headphones are comfortable and pretty much eliminates most background noise
He says they really help block out the background noise from the other students in class
Due to the more substantial padding, these block out a lot of background noise compared
I found them extremely uncomfortable and had to return for that reason...even as great as they sounded just could not get past the pressure they put on my head and ears..and as a point of reference I have a pretty normal head...or at least I think I do
They offer detailed sound reproduction that cheaper headphones lack, and you will notice the difference between lower end MP3 bit rates and higher ones, such as 128 kbps vs. 192 kbps
but I feel as though it's an accurate reproduction sound yet not as good as for example a beyerdynamic custom one pro which is twice the

, they sound terrible compared to these, no separation, overpowered bass, and a huge lack of comfort
Regardless, the case they come with is nice and flat, and the cable feels extremely durable (though the lack of a detaching cable is a bummer)Criticisms about form-factor aside, I absolutely couldn't stand to keep using these
Other than that, they feel good around the ears and sound great; although, strangely, my voice sounds muffled when I speak with them on but the ambient noise in the room doesn't sound muffled even though it is quieter.

I did expect more attenuation of ambient noise since they cover the whole ear, but I still hear most everything going on in the room around me.

My purchase motivation was improved sound quality and reduction of external sound.
the 32db of passive noise reduction is very clear, I can hardly hear anyone speak when I have these on, even with nothing playing!

Nothing permanent as far as I know, they fluctuate and such, but my ears do have some blockage and volume reduction issues going on
These headphones have great sound and outstanding passive noise reduction.
Are they punishing people for their material consumerism?
The longer length of the Senn's may bother people like myself who suffer from TMJ syndrome (jaw problem due to clenching), which may also be further induced by its vice like pressure.
Their 54 ohms impedance makes them easy to drive and being of closed design they won't disturb people around you.
And again some people might actually like that clamping force just does not work for me
I think the wrong people are buying these -- these are for studio use, not DJ or jamming to your iPod
This is annoying to me, since I'm using these to give me some isolation in a noisy open-plan office

I use them at my noisy office daily, and they do not squeeze my head compared to my less expensive Sennheiser phones.
I would use these at my noisy office job to help me focus, and worked like a charm.
Situation: I work in a noisy office and I do online courses at night at home
