Reviews around setup (5.00 of 5)

  • It is worth noting that they are not technologically minded to the point that they want to tinker with things and would have dreaded having to do any significant setup
  • Setup waas a breeze, and the instructions were very simple and clear
  • So I bought it, it arrived in 2 days, setup was largely painless and fast, and I proceeded to run the same test I did before (photo upload) while pinging google DNS.

Reviews around feature (5.00 of 5)

  • IQ Router is a feature rich product with a great Customer Service / IT department
  • As someone who regularly plays online games and streams, I appreciate all the QoS features to reduce latency and get the most out of my Internet connection
  • This is absurd considering their "unique" software is nothing more than a collection of scripts on top of OpenWRT/LEDE.Buy an EdgeRouter X instead, half the price and higher hardware specifications (no wireless) that also offers a Smart Queue feature that corrects bufferbloat
  • Evenroute has done an amazing job making a router that is easy to manage and packs powerful features for power users
  • The one nice feature is that is easier to test your speed without having to rely on your computer

Reviews around cpu (5.00 of 5)

  • It doesn't have a strong enough CPU on board to handle higher throughput uplinks with the active queue management (the technology that makes your Internet connection "fair" so that one person can't slow down everyone else by downloading).I wasn't aware of this when I bought it, and I have Gigabit in both directions, so this product is not for me
  • Its CPU is powerful enough that it can handle the advanced queue management algorithm Fair Queue Controlled Delay Active Queue Management (fq_codel) at full gigabit speeds, along with dynamic QoS. Its WiFi range and number of antennas are also superior

Reviews around product (4.45 of 5)

  • IQ Router is a feature rich product with a great Customer Service / IT department
  • However, it's a more expensive product, so you get what you pay for in this case
  • Excellent product for folks that want to get the most out of their internet connection but dont have time to optimize on their own.
  • Overall its just been a great experience....great product and great support!!
  • The Netgear Nighthawk X10 is a much better product overall IMO

Reviews around iqrouter (4.16 of 5)

  • It showed an improvement from a very consistent “D” (pre-IQrouter) to a solid
  • This IQrouter has been amazing and automatically knows how to maintain and keep a stable internet connection
  • I have a complicated Internet “situation” but IQRouter solved my many issues
  • Over the years I have spent more money than I care to admit on networking equipment and out of all of the equipment and various open source firmware I have tried, the IQrouter is easily the best!I would easily recommend this router to anyone, beginner or power user

Reviews around experience (4.16 of 5)

  • I bought this router with sole reason to improve my gaming experience due to better connection
  • But at the same time I was kind of disappointed because it really drop down my Mbps drastically to about 44mbpsIn the dashboard of the IQ Rider it does tell you that the IQ optimization is scheduled to run about 10 days during that time it will optimize your connection for the best internet experience
  • This router seems to smooth out the bumps for a far less frustrating internet experience.
  • no more extensive buffering on videos, nothing except a smooth broadband experience
  • What a great experience working the Evenroute support staff

Reviews around good (4.03 of 5)

  • I can't say enough good for this modem and the company behind it.
  • It showed an improvement from a very consistent “D” (pre-IQrouter) to a solid
  • , showed people how to detect the issue on their existing equipment before they bought into theirs then offered the KEY SOLUTION to solving the problem (a router with a good design, latest high performance WIFI, current kernel, proper tuning, adaptive magic and a simple but very powerful user interface (for techies like me that give a damn), as well as the default "easy" interfaces for those less technically savvy
  • The hardware is a TP-Link Archer C-7 1750, running Evenroute's firmware, which is fine with me if it keeps working this well.
  • Super and highly responsive support as well, not that you are ever likely to need them.

Reviews around support (3.95 of 5)

  • I am happy with my purchase and pleased with the great support I received.
  • Super and highly responsive support as well, not that you are ever likely to need them.
  • Better support by email than I've gotten by some companies via phone
  • I contacted their support for a restore image which they refused to provide...strange
  • Great support - they're very responsive and helpful via email

Reviews around thing (3.68 of 5)

  • It's now been about 2 1/2 months since this review and I can report that I have completely forgotten about this router -- and that's a good thing
  • 2019.The good thing is if I decide to switch to U-verse I can also use this IQ router with their specific modem
  • For me right now things are looking pretty good and I can't wait for that 10th Day for my full optimization to complete
  • It dramatically improved things, and I could now watch streaming TV without the stuttering & slowdowns
  • The sender gets the picture, slows things down, retransmits, and the message gets through

Reviews around performance (3.61 of 5)

  • Adding a wireless device on top will slog your performance
  • We had a 3M/0.5M DSL solution that frankly... sucked.
  • I can use my corporate VPN with decent to good performance, and it made a big difference for streaming Netflix, too
  • It's not perfect, by any means, and there are fancier, more expensive routers that may provide somewhat better performance
  • Not great but appears to improve overall performance on my AT&T expensive 'Elite' 6mb line.

Reviews around improvement (3.44 of 5)

  • We had a 3M/0.5M DSL solution that frankly... sucked.
  • Originally, we had noticed no improvement, but that was due to the ISP WiFi still being on, after turning that off and ensuring that all devices connect to the IQrouter we now see great improvement!
  • The speed tests (as measured by DSLreports.com) show a significant improvement in the “bufferbloat”.
  • We had a 3M/0.5M DSL solution that frankly... sucked.
  • Testing before and after installation showed a significant improvement in everything from Netflix to general page retrievals.

Reviews around company (3.22 of 5)

  • I can't say enough good for this modem and the company behind it.
  • We had a 3M/0.5M DSL solution that frankly... sucked.
  • I'm not deducting any stars for hardware gone bad, because tech just breaks on occasion, and I really feel like the company took care of the issue as best they could.

Reviews around dsl (1.95 of 5)

  • The first time I had AT&T's less than stellar DSL, it did what it could but garbage in, garbage out.
  • After this, it has performed beyond my expectations on a very poor DSL line.
  • Got this to try and improve the horrible DSL connection at a family member's home, and boy, did it ever make a difference
  • A few months later our provider finally mad a faster DSL

More about IQrouter – IQRV2 Self-Optimizing router with dual band WiFi (AC1750) adapts to your line for improved quality

  • IQrouter is an intelligent router that knows how to use whatever Internet speed you have and actually make it work
  • IQrouter is the only self-optimizing router on the market
  • That means that from the moment you install it you get optimum Internet Quality
  • It doesn't stop there
  • It continues to optimize over time, since few lines are steady
  • For example, in the evenings your line is probably slower because everyone out there is streaming videos
  • IQrouter dynamically optimizes for that lower speed allowing you to stream your own videos with no hiccups
  • IQrouter is an absolute must if you work from home! You can reliably have video conference calls, upload/download files, and do all your transactions with minimal glitches or dropped connections
  • Not for Satellite, WISP or LTE connections as their latencies are variable by nature and not correctable
