It is worth noting that they are not technologically minded to the point that they want to tinker with things and would have dreaded having to do any significant setup

Setup waas a breeze, and the instructions were very simple and clear

So I bought it, it arrived in 2 days, setup was largely painless and fast, and I proceeded to run the same test I did before (photo upload) while pinging google DNS.

IQ Router is a feature rich product with a great Customer Service / IT department

As someone who regularly plays online games and streams, I appreciate all the QoS features to reduce latency and get the most out of my Internet connection

This is absurd considering their "unique" software is nothing more than a collection of scripts on top of OpenWRT/LEDE.Buy an EdgeRouter X instead, half the price and higher hardware specifications (no wireless) that also offers a Smart Queue feature that corrects bufferbloat

Evenroute has done an amazing job making a router that is easy to manage and packs powerful features for power users

The one nice feature is that is easier to test your speed without having to rely on your computer

It doesn't have a strong enough CPU on board to handle higher throughput uplinks with the active queue management (the technology that makes your Internet connection "fair" so that one person can't slow down everyone else by downloading).I wasn't aware of this when I bought it, and I have Gigabit in both directions, so this product is not for me

Its CPU is powerful enough that it can handle the advanced queue management algorithm Fair Queue Controlled Delay Active Queue Management (fq_codel) at full gigabit speeds, along with dynamic QoS. Its WiFi range and number of antennas are also superior

Excellent product for folks that want to get the most out of their internet connection but dont have time to optimize on their own.

Over the years I have spent more money than I care to admit on networking equipment and out of all of the equipment and various open source firmware I have tried, the IQrouter is easily the best!I would easily recommend this router to anyone, beginner or power user

I bought this router with sole reason to improve my gaming experience due to better connection

But at the same time I was kind of disappointed because it really drop down my Mbps drastically to about 44mbpsIn the dashboard of the IQ Rider it does tell you that the IQ optimization is scheduled to run about 10 days during that time it will optimize your connection for the best internet experience

This router seems to smooth out the bumps for a far less frustrating internet experience.

, showed people how to detect the issue on their existing equipment before they bought into theirs then offered the KEY SOLUTION to solving the problem (a router with a good design, latest high performance WIFI, current kernel, proper tuning, adaptive magic and a simple but very powerful user interface (for techies like me that give a damn), as well as the default "easy" interfaces for those less technically savvy

The hardware is a TP-Link Archer C-7 1750, running Evenroute's firmware, which is fine with me if it keeps working this well.

Super and highly responsive support as well, not that you are ever likely to need them.

I am happy with my purchase and pleased with the great support I received.

It's now been about 2 1/2 months since this review and I can report that I have completely forgotten about this router -- and that's a good thing

2019.The good thing is if I decide to switch to U-verse I can also use this IQ router with their specific modem

For me right now things are looking pretty good and I can't wait for that 10th Day for my full optimization to complete

It dramatically improved things, and I could now watch streaming TV without the stuttering & slowdowns

The sender gets the picture, slows things down, retransmits, and the message gets through

I can use my corporate VPN with decent to good performance, and it made a big difference for streaming Netflix, too

It's not perfect, by any means, and there are fancier, more expensive routers that may provide somewhat better performance

Originally, we had noticed no improvement, but that was due to the ISP WiFi still being on, after turning that off and ensuring that all devices connect to the IQrouter we now see great improvement!

The speed tests (as measured by DSLreports.com) show a significant improvement in the “bufferbloat”.

I'm not deducting any stars for hardware gone bad, because tech just breaks on occasion, and I really feel like the company took care of the issue as best they could.

The first time I had AT&T's less than stellar DSL, it did what it could but garbage in, garbage out.

After this, it has performed beyond my expectations on a very poor DSL line.
