I was quite honestly surprised at the difference they make in providing true audio feedback with both mic'd acoustics and voice as well as with the acoustic-electric guitars and ukuleles and with the Strat as well
They have exceptional clarity and are incredibly honest seperating out the frequencies distinctly so I can mix more accurately
so at first i was a little let down coming from a 2.1 setup but over the past months getting use to these i can now say WOW the clarity and crispness is top of the line
The highs were met with great clarity and precision while the mids were fully present and ready to fire some of the best sounding vocals into your ear drums
sure). The clarity of these monitors are simply astounding and the bass is phenomenal.
but if you are a pro with well treated room or an average music listener getting your first good speakers ,the power monitor gives versatility at a very affordable price and would be a great value if you can pick one up for sale.
Although the frequency response reaches towards the low 40s, the bass did not shake the room

The 5" JBL LSR305's are, by far, the best studio speakers I've ever owned
let me start off by admitting that by all accounts the Yamaha HS8s are "more accurate" studio monitors, and most direct comparisons between the JBL LSR308 and the Yamaha HS8s favor the Yamaha that I've seen
Ive also had the wonderful opportunity to track in a lot of awesome studios with AMAZING Augspurger monitor systems, even some costing around $300,000.With all of that being said I had to write a review on these little guys after having used them for maybe about 2 years now and these still blow me away
Overall, these are very excellent studio monitors with big crystal clear sound
The idea is that if you produce your final product on proper studio monitors, they will give you a real world window into what you can expect it to sound like everywhere else
Only drawback of these monitors so far, is that the sound is so good, that listening to bad audio quality (Youtube, News Channels, etc) becomes kind of harsh making you long to some FLAC or 320 quality
After reading all the positive reviews and watching reviews about the great quality these speakers are I decided to take a gamble and make a purchase
The first thing I noticed after testing the LSR305’s was the incredible sound quality they produced
After a long search for great quality speakers I can use with my Xonar Essence STX II, I settled on these JBL 305
In addition to its surprisingly flat frequency spectrum, the LSR305 offers professional quality at a consumer price; perfect for even the most frugal music enthusiasts
After reading all the positive reviews and watching reviews about the great quality these speakers are I decided to take a gamble and make a purchase
I think that most people who are giving these monitors bad reviews is because they don't know what they are buying
couldn't resist given the glowing reviews and thought I give nearfiled monitor a shot
I've been rebuilding the recording rig in my apartment, so I decided to try a pair of these JBLs after reading positive reviews about their quality, value, and bang for the buck
After all of the positive reviews I guess I expected better.
With that significant a price difference I don't think you can compare the 2 sets of monitors fairly
For playing and recording at home, I have been using a couple of small Behringer Ultracoustic AT108s which provide very reasonable amplification for smaller spaces at a very reasonable price
but if you are a pro with well treated room or an average music listener getting your first good speakers ,the power monitor gives versatility at a very affordable price and would be a great value if you can pick one up for sale.
speaker is cheap, high c/p value, don't expect good assembly job get done
The JBL LSR308's truly are an awesome value at an affordable price
But if you need a decent interface at a great value, check it out; there are good reasons I chose the UMC404HD over the Focusrite Scarlett I had initially decided upon
but if you are a pro with well treated room or an average music listener getting your first good speakers ,the power monitor gives versatility at a very affordable price and would be a great value if you can pick one up for sale.
:Stand by what I said earlier about being a great value
For $250 a pair on sale with build in amp,it is a great value and most people would be very happy with it,but not trying to sound snobbish but the transparency and detail is lacking compare to
The JBL LSR308's truly are an awesome value at an affordable price
I'd read lots of good things about these monitors, and had seen Zeos Pantera's "Z review" that made me think these would be really good.
The coolest thing about these speakers is the tweeter waveguide
You can push these things pretty hard (my neighbor across the street complained that one speaker playing through my garage door was drowning out the football game in his living room), and they still sound great, at full volume.
The only two things that I could see as cons would be amplifier hiss and stringent listening position
That being said, there is a SMALL hissing noise when these are idling.
And I do mean amplifier hiss (which you can't fix) and not ground loop noise (which you can but expensive)
The hissing noise isn't really an issue unless you have no sound playing
That was even worse--the noise was just as loud, but the signal softer.
A quick search online for "GPU ground loop under load" would list you the many cases where only during gaming, the speakers would start to buzz as if electrical noise is leaking into them

Building on JBL legacy of high-quality sound performance, the 3 series Mk II represents an upgrade of the impressive LSR3 series
These compact, professional quality, powered studio monitors retain the LSR3 series' image control waveguide for incredible detail and imaging, and the broad sweet spot that means you get optimal sound even off-axis
The Mk II series now features updated high-frequency (HF) and low-frequency (LF) transducers, which respectively provide optimized damping for superior transient response and greater linearity that allows impressively deep bass with lower harmonic distortion
Upgrades also include new boundary equalization (EQ), which restores neutral LF response when speakers are placed on the work surface and adjacent walls
Hear for yourself why JBL is legendary in sound performance and quality!
