While the radio worked great on tests, the first time I took it out on the sailboat it disappeared off my vest strap
I took the time to read through the manual and select different channels, adjust transmitting power, etc... and it still fell WAY short of what was expected

This has just about the best range I have seen on a hand-held model.
This radio doesn't have incredible range, but I knew that buying it, and it works for my needs.
Since this is a 3 watt it doesn't have incredible range, but, he didn't have no trouble hearing what people were saying and could hear a lot of stuff out on Big Bear Lake
