The waffle iron cooks the waffles well, only a tad bit uneven

There is a light to indicate when the iron is hot enough to use, but there is nothing to indicate that the waffle is done (no beep or anything), so it makes it a bit of a guessing game

The overflow channel is by far the best feature if you are a chaffle-maker, because if you make the ones that are mostly cheese, the oil doesn't drip out onto the counter; it now stays in the overflow channel, which I use a paper towel to soak up afterward

The overflow channel is also a nice feature because batter thickness tends to vary and can often overflow.

For me, the most significant feature of this excellent waffle maker is that it has grooves so the batter doesn't get all over the counter

The built-in pocket sides catch any excess, making clean up a snap; very nice feature I found

The drip tray on the side is not only a great feature, my niece's and nephew's love to dunk the resulting waffle sticks in syrup

Mix your batter reserving the egg whites which if you whip to stiff peaks and fold into the batter just before pouring will give much fluffier waffles!I liked this appliance

It has a light indicator letting you know when the appliance is hot and ready to start cooking and it also lets you know when the waffle is done

We have an old waffle maker that my family loved, but it was a very picky kind that either made waffles that are too anemic (not enough batter) or overflowing onto the counter (too much batter!)

More batter can make it dense and heavier, and a little less batter spread out will be a bit lighter and fluffier.
