The trial kit's allotted data of 100MB is not sufficient to do a proper speed test.(I performed a Google speed test: 0.11 Mbps Down/ 5.13 Mbps Up)In accessing different news webpages on its LTE newtork (T-Moible throttled tiered speed), the pages would not finish loading for 10+ seconds; some pages never finished loading (I used an unlocked Samsung Note 5 with all system updates completed, near LAX, on a Friday late afternoon). The setup was easy
I used phone for 2 days before deciding to switch to permanent plan - and get my $5 trial fee credited to the 1-year plan!I simply installed the second, "permanent" sim, entered some information, paid the required monthly or annual fee, and in 5 minutes, I was up-and-running on Mint Mobile with my current T-mobile number ported to Mint Mobile
I got this for a G5 Plus, installed it, did the setup and it worked perfectly.
I prepaid 300 for the full-year plan after trying out the test SIM card, and the coverage is just as good as T-Mobile (same network, I believe).
If you are able to do some light research/googling, don't mind rolling up your sleeves a little bit during the trial and activation process, are in a good T-Mobile coverage area and the trial SIM works well for you, this might be a good bet
Again I called tech support, and they answered promptly, and informed me that my SIM card could not be ported to my number, since a new number had already been generated.
I called tech support (again, they answered very quickly), and they said I'd used all 100 MB of LTE data on that SIM...
A call to Mint tech support - they ask for the SIM number and say, sorry, the SIM isn't in their system right, but they can't fix it - has to be escalated

At least when you call Tech Support, in my case, they actually answered the phone...
but once I got a T-Mobile phone to be able to hook into the Wi-Fi in the house, it is awesome and the price is definitely right at $180 a year for service
So far after 30 days I am really liking the service and the much cheaper prices below the other companies
If I could sum up the Mint Mobile experience in one concise phrase it would be that - great price, terrible service
Lots of data, LTE coverage and a great price for prepaid
I am not sure if I will bother with another trial pack, I am nearly ready to go back to the criminals (ATT, Verizon etc.) and their outrageously priced plans and their HARD credit checks.
This is a great way to test if Mint Mobile works for your phone and your location
The $5 starter kit was a great way to test out the coverage in my area
Everything else about the service has been wonderful, but the way you treat your customers when YOU have made a mistake (that you acknowledged!) is downright disrespectful and a disgrace
This is a great way to test a network before you pulled the trigger!
This starter kit was a great way to get me interested in their program
love the service, only thing is that if you want to keep your number you have to purchase at least a 3 month membership..no free trial if you want to keep your number.
, there's no way I'm going to risk using this service, even if it's a free trial

The trial worked very well and she was happy with the service
I used it a little bit, but since the trial gives you a trial-specific number I did not use it much
Overall: If you have good T-Mobile coverage in your area, you consider yourself to be comfortable changing some settings on your phone, and you like saving serious money... then this is a good way to go
Great starter kit to make sure you have a good coverage in your
Very poor coverage, despite being in the area showed in their map coverage, the signal was very poor, 1 or 2 bars, and no coverage for some large moments
It allowed my girlfriend to find out that switching from the AT&T network to the T-Mobile network is not good for her, as the coverage in the area where she needs it most isn't as good
Thus far I would recommend this to anyone who does not need a lot of data who also does not travel to rural areas much as I know T-Mobile's coverage is hit or miss in those places once you deviate away from major highways (but even then coverage in my experience is highly subjective to the area, many are fine but on occasion random ones will be abysmal).
awesome deal, works off of T-Mobile, reliable and cheap!!

product works for the trial period, but not after that.

I am giving it 4 stars for the service NOT their customer support
In short, trial sim works, porting number doesn't work, customer support is slow to respond and helpless

Just need to provide my previous cell plan's account number and password (of course, also the cell phone number to be ported) directly through the mint apps
awesome deal, works off of T-Mobile, reliable and cheap!!
All I needed for the port in was my Account number and PIN
I asked for my account number and PIN and will be switching back to a reputable carrier

Maybe they are fine if all goes flawlessly, but if not, you are in for a horrible experience.
If you're looking for a seamless experience, good data speeds, and consistently working features, however, you may want to consider looking elsewhere.
This is the worst experience I've ever had on a prepaid phone service
The most scary part is porting number to mint, because we saw many negative experiences here and other forums
I hated my experience elsewhere and the funny part is that I was half expecting poor customer service from Mint Mobile because they don't charge anything for phone service however they are amazing to work with
was a bit tricky, because you require a phone number to activate the
When all checks out, just activate the second sim as you buy one of Mint's plans and port your previous phone number from your old carrier.
If you want to use an old phone number with Mint, you port the number as you activate your service
great bargain, why pay $60 a month when you can pay $15 a month for compatible service, please give this service a try you have nothing to loose, and you can keep your same phone number if you like.
In the meantime, I had no data and my phone number was stuck and unuseable
