Reolink has a great product here, with a rich feature set, though there are potential improvements that could all come form software/firmware updates

The cloud access is a great bonus feature, I have the camera inside looking out at my dock and boat

The Reolink software and mobile app are feature rich and could completely negate the need to buy expensive 3rd party software.

Discussed the poor image quality, and they assured me that it was "really great", or similar - based on the claimed number of pixels (who cares how many pixels if you compress it this badly?

I would have given it a higher rating but the sound quality is poor

As with all of the Reolink products I've used the camera functions as advertised and provides great picture quality.

Given my experiences with the camera's poor image quality when any motion was introduced, total loss of picture under moderate light changes (think dimming your dining room lights 1/2 way), the windows software being extremely poor buggy and prone to crashing, and the Android and Apple mobile apps being mediocre at best, I am highly suspicious of the 5 star reviews for this thing

The app has worked fine for me as well as the desktop, I advise use the desktop to do more setting up

Reolink has not fixed this problem despite complaints for at least six months.

Hopefully, Reolink will fix this issue in later firmware release (to have the overwrite function works on 128gb card).

I hope that this review either prompts Reolink to fix these

If Reolink can resolve this problem I'd give these cameras 5 stars, but if they cannot they are not dependable enough and I will have to find another solution

I've been using two of these indoors as well as a Reolink 4MP Super HD

The software works fairly well, better than Lorex and more stable for remote viewing

Also, many prior reviewers mentioned they had a hard time to setup and that the software was not intuitive

i changed the camera to a static IP address instead of DHCP

Still, I wasted quite a bit of time figuring out the cause and correcting it

I'm not aware of any wireless device that has this restriction and seems a bit restrictive once the camera has been installed and you need to make a WiFi configuration change.

I might have liked a little bit of a wider angle lense

I struggled a little bit with the email push of motion activated videos but finally figured out you can't easily use it with an email account that has two factor authentication enabled, so I just created a new gmail account without dual authentication for the camera only and it works fine

The camera comes with a connector for the hard wired CAT-5 cable but doesn't come with a cap to protect the connections from the rain

I suspect these cameras would do better with a hard-wired connection and may rewire my house to accommodate them

The motion sensing is useless (because the infrared LEDs attract bugs at night) and the microphone is mostly useless (because of circuit noise)

Have been playing with sensitivity as the camera will pick up bugs flying through the lens that are lit-up by the IR illuminators - will work to dial this in to get less false-triggers (well, it is a valid trigger from the camera's perspective).It would be nice to be able to disable the IR LEDs on the camera and use an external IR

I also get frequent false alarms with motion detection and the culprit seems to be a spider's web.all in all great product for great price

Oh, and BTW I hooked up a 4TB hard drive (I bought the cheapest one I could find on Amazon with an eSATA port

The NVR filled up the internal hard drive and is now recording to the external one

Setting it up with Blue Iris or iSpy and bunch of other apps including CAM TV on your Apple TV was a breeze, so I can view on the TV anytime or backup the clips to my hard drive
