but if you also need another screen for complex work tasks.
The case provided with the monitor is also sufficient to protect it and it is working well enough as a stand for the monitor
Even with 32 mb RAM and a 6 gb video card, sometimes things don't refresh properly later in a lengthy work session.
The work flow I've developed works best on a 3 monitor setup, which I have in my home office, but I always lose that when I travel and am confined to laptop
The case/stand works really well as a case, the monitor fits very snug
** Will most likely not work unless your laptop has a native USB C
I own an older version of a USB DisplayLink monitor (Lenovo LT1421) that I've had for several years, and while it served its purpose from time to time, I usually found that the lower resolution (max 1366 x 768) and relatively poor picture was frustrating and not worth connecting to my laptop unless I *really* needed a second monitor
The monitor is of good quality materials, and the picture looks pretty solid
Picture quality good but not great...auto brightness does not seem to work
Apparently doesn't work with USB3.0, only USB type C with Display port
before you buy, do yourself a favor and research it a bit as far as compatibility goes.compared to 169c+...in my experience, the c+ will only work if your mobo setup has a 3.1 usb c slot that's dp alt mode compatible.
ONLY compatible to: USB 3.1 type-C(GEN2), Thunderbolt 3 devices, USB 3.0 type-C is not compatible

, the stand/cover was OK, but the problem was the USC C, I couldn't get the right connector to hook it to my laptop and get it to work, I ordered several to try before returning the item.
The most important thing is the monitor doesn't work, even couldn't start up
One strange thing is ,i use custom resolution of 1920x1280 on Surface Pro (because the original resolution is useless on 12 inch screen), but when I plug the usb monitor, my custom resolution is gone
Abuse is one thing, but common things like tipping the monitor over or moving the laptop or device its connected to a little too far WILL cause the connector to break.
The most important thing is the monitor doesn't work, even couldn't start up
/break screenThe greatest thing is that you get really good portable FHD IPS screen and it makes a lot of difference when you need to move around with a laptop
Only complaint... the case is a great case, but a sub-par stand.
The case it comes in is a nice case but is way too unstable as a monitor stand
(http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005M0ICG2?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00).--The case is supposed to double as a stand, but it's just weird and not as
The case works great as a case and terrible as a monitor stand
The case is very good for protection, but not a good stand
One other note, and this is something I found out via trial and error as I could not find any information on this monitor with regard how to replace a lost or damaged cable
Overall bad experience on this one - both on product itself as well as with ASUS customer service.
The image quality is adequate for our work as well as if we watch a movie.
I use this when I travel as well as at home with laptop
I gave it a 3 because the cable that is provided fits loosely and continues to disconnect-extremely frustrating as it also resizes my laptop screen.
I just bought a new $6 Amazon Basics USB Micro-B cable and it works perfectly again.
I tried the Y-cable other reviewers suggested and It did work, when I connected the split cable (for power) to the usb port of the Surface Pro 3's power brick
However, it comes with this flimsy cable that is just awful
However, the USB 3.0 cable was stiff and screen is very yellowish
If I bump the cable and the monitor goes out, I have to reboot again
** Will most likely not work unless your laptop has a native USB C
DisplayPort™ over USB-C™ is using USB Type-C connector and cable to support the DisplayPort interface for audio/video transport capability
The USB-C model has more on screen controls, accessible through a funny combination button/switch in the place that the USB 3.0's power button lives

I found a forum online where another customer was unsuccessful in getting the monitor to work at all on windows 10 and downgraded back to windows 8
The C+ is brighter and more responsive than the B+ as it uses the displayport, standard over USB 3.1 Type C meaning that it counts towards the maximum number of monitors your graphics card supports

Apple's latest update to MacOS has broken the display driver software
The software that comes with them is very easy to set up, and once you do, you can just use your Windows display settings to rearrange them as you like
I downloaded the software and it worked immediately and flawlessly with my Win 10 and
The item worked right out of the box after installing the appropriate software which is good.

Can't control brightness with OSX (have to connect to a Windows computer) - I don't trust the case-stand 100%
In both cases I'm using Windows 10, and the disc that came with the "B" version complained the driver wouldn't work with my OS, and directed me to go to the displaylink website anyway, so it was rather pointless
DisplayLink will not work with 915 graphics and Windows 7 and this message will be seen after install
Windows 10 does not make it easy to get to the normal settings you would find under display properties (resolution, refresh rate, etc), but after digging around, it says it's set to 60hz, but it certainly does not feel like it
I have Windows 10 installed and it works with no issues
I think it's more of a driver issue, but at the moment, it works much better on Windows
I did not originally see that the product only stated compatible with windows 7 and 8, but this is ridiculous that it will not work due to a driver issue
I am a digital nomad and I work as s
I can't change the color profile, which is probably related to the driver issue.
