Their stainless steel kettle beyond met my expectation.
I was disappointed in the weight of the stainless steel.
Looking for a traditional looking stainless steel teapot.
But after a closer look, it's not the top of the line quality that i was expecting from OXO (it's made in China so the stainless steel is questionable)
It is all stainless steel as advertised, not just the bottom of it
It's crazy how much time we spend searching for something like a stupid tea pot, but I gotta say this one delivers
Anyone know the purpose of the more expensive, absolutely adorable and beautifully crafted tea pots that only carry a minimal amount of water 2-3 cups (in today's world, that 1 mug); anyone know
After an exhaustive search, I found the perfect tea pot
and if I do not clean the pot once a day I will get mineral
The whistle is not as loud as some tea pots I've owned, but it's loud enough
But there is a fatal design flaw here - once the water boils and it whistles, you have to touch the lever on the spout to open and pour the water out, and it’s freaking hot
I am very pleased with this teapot: nice design and easy to use.
Good capacity, simple design, decent whistle (not annoying, but can hear), nice rotating handle for easy storage
My only (tiny) complaint is that I'd prefer to have a button on the handle that opens the spout to pour, but maybe that would mess up the classic design.
This is hardly the good ergonomic design I expected from Oxo.
fairly expensive but a well made product .love the design...the brushed stainless matches other kitchen appliances plus it is a pleasure to
Stainless steel throughout makes it a good looking product and easy to clean.
On the other hand I thought that 900 reviews and 4 stars on amazon, can't be a bad product considering that many one star reviews are from very picky customers (which is true and I will tell you later about it)
Saw this product was the recommended test winner on America's test kitchen
I love oxo products and this tea kettle is no exception
Heats fast, easy to clean the outside, water stays surprisingly hot (inside) for a long duration, has a very tight lid and the spout release is a useful feature
Two great features of this tea kettle are that there is a lid you can remove to clean the inside of the kettle, and the handle can be moved to the side for filling
Paint?Looks nice on the outside , but beware the inside
and I like it a lot first and foremost it’s easy to clean I
Its best features are: the handle moves so you can easily fill it, it has some kind of rubber so that the handle and spout opening do not get too hot, the lid is big enough to make it easy to clean the inside, and it has a larger capacity than most.
Steam escapes from around the edges of the lid when the water boils
I am amazed how quickly the water boils - within a few (like 5-6) minutes the water is ready
But, personally, i still prefer my electric kettle:) See my review on Salton kettle
Salton GK1465 Cordless Electric Glass Kettle, 1.7 L, Clear
And this is the first of my last 3 that truly stays manageable to pick up with an un-insulated hand after the water boils (cool - and the water boils super fast in this)
When water boiled, it is easy to overflow and turn off gas stove
The spout must be opened with great care in order to keep from burning your fingers
Also, the knob on the lid weighs more than the lid itself, so once it flips itself upside down, it is next to impossible to right it and secure it in the pot without burning my fingers
The pour cap finger-tab itself, as mentioned, has a silicone "pad" for protected finger-control on both the top (for lifting it to pour) and the bottom (for popping it back into closed position)
and I like it a lot first and foremost it’s easy to clean I
Flipping the whistle up to pour is easy - you just press the lever down - but closing it on a hot kettle is very hard to do without burning your fingers, using an oven pad, or poking the cap down with a spoon
