It's decently easy to use if you follow guides online and know tech (the latest firmware has a nice GUI and setup wizard), and it's definitely enterprise grade equipment
Pros:+feature-rich+fast hardware+software is actively developed and updated (unlike many consumer routers with security holes that never get fixed)+beautiful/capable GUI+capable CLICons:-not geared towards people who don't want anything to do with the technology they're using (not really a con)-official documentation for certain things is lacking (though is rapidly improving)-GUI is lacking some features available in the CLI (though this is also improving with each update)
Incredible packet-forwarding rates, excellent GUI, powerful command line language and exceptional price/performance and features for SMB use
I very well might have spent the extra 50% to get the Ubiquiti TS-5-POE
I really like the gui - especially the network charts and analyses that show how much data is going where
Love the Deep Packet Inspection feature, helps me figure out which system is accessing my bandwidth to the max from which application or site.
Another nice feature is the ability to set up the router to handle VPN services, so you can connect your mobile devices back to your home network and then out to the internet through the VPN tunnel
The feature set is amazing, from the very basic settings to advanced features everything is manageable
you get deep packet inspection and other awesome features.
Based on several comments in other reviews, I was worried that enabling some more complex configuration features might peg the CPU, but so far, it has remained low - usually below 20%.I haven't seen any signs of glitches; it's been rock solid so far
and I'm not going to bother fixing my old router, this is working great! It's not as scary as the other reviews will lead you to believe now, just download the latest firmware and make that the first thing you do and you will get the new option that has wizards to setup basic typical network layouts (1 wan, 2 lan or 2 wan, 1 lan with load balancing etc.

But given the low cost and good reviews, I took a gamble
As a network engineer I shouldn't need to watch YouTube Videos and tutorials on how to program a router, however that's what all the positive reviews point suggest
The reviews were mostly stellar, though people were warning that this is "not easy" to set up
About the only thing you lose when going with this over other more enterprise-level companies is the support; online support forums are the preferred method of communication, and I've not heard some great things about the paid support options
I spent 4 hours on this stupid thing and it still doesn't
There were a few things harder to find initially, like assigning a static IP to some devices
This device does so many great things for a budget priced product.
If you know why this thing is awesome (super straighforward fast ROUTER for dirt cheap) then buy it already!
Luckily, the configuration wizards make standard setup very simple to accomplish
Learning is taking a bit of time (as I am a newbie) but setup is now so much faster than before.
Setup is fairly easy with the built-in wizards but it does take an hour or so to make sure everything is good
Love this router!Knocking one star off due to absolutely *ridiculous* initial setup process, where you have to:- plug a computer directly into eth0, with static 192.168.0
The one preloaded is over a year old and has very limited features in the GUI.Updating is quite painful from a mac, so be prepared to spend an hour or so configuring this initially! It's a very reliable piece of hardware otherwise.
Amazing price for this very powerful piece of hardware.
I very well might have spent the extra 50% to get the Ubiquiti TS-5-POE
We went from 50/50 Mbps to an unreliable piece of garbage single digit speed.
Amazing cheap piece of hardware highly recommend to learn and secure.
It just leaves a bad impression of what could be a great device.
If you understand thst, then this might just be the perfect device for you
This device made my home internet seem much faster, especially under heavy load (and with many people connected at the same time).Use this device as your main "router" and limit your other devices to AP
This has been a great device to use and I have been using it for the past 1 and half years
I love this little router, I also have a Unifi wireless device as well.
