Setup was very easy, but took about 20 minutes for the receiver to

the genies will "see" the full 4 TB worth of space (note that the genie 2 comes with 2 TB worth of hard drive space just "by itself" which might be enough for your family's use anyways, you know best how much recording space your family needs :) ) ... at which point I'll transfer this anker/seagate hard drive setup to the genie.. in the meantime the anker/seagate hard drive combo worked flawlessly with my HR-24, didn't even need to "format" itself like the WD expander, just started working immediately and is still working great one week later

Setup was easy, hit the enable more storage on the Fios DVR Menu, it will tell you to plug the eSata cable into the back of your DVR, you'll get a pop up saying that it will delete anything on your New Drive
