So, if you want to sacrifice significant speed for security or don’t have the need for speeds beyond 70mbps, Core might work for you
We have set up a bunch of devices to the router, and they are all working on the fastest speeds that I have ever seen
I can finally hang out in these rooms and use wifi at great speeds
We live out in the country and only have so much "high speed" (not even that high speed) internet per month before it slows to a crawl.
Speed and throughput are pathetic, I could not even watch movies on my video streaming account because the speed kept dropping down to around 3-10Mb/sec as opposed to the steady 70Mb/sec from older Linksys router

I have a windows phone and all my devices are windows needless to say I wasn't to happy about that

I rely on Norton and the Core simply reinforces my trust
Sure I can cancel, but that turns the pricey Core into just another router, and I can pick up a decent router for 1/5 what the Core costs.
Now as an early adopter the issue I ran into was the core not being attached to my account properly
Overall if you are concerned with security and want something easy to set up that just works I would definitely recommend the Core.
The slight additional delay when opening a browser or visiting an unfamiliar site would be worth the delays, IF the Core were not so generally unstable as described above

Now with a firmware update, Static IP addresses was available
I have once again installed the previous router and everything works as it should
The Core deals with that through a facility known as "Reserved Addresses," which (in theory) allows you to designate a static address for each device based on its MAC address
No Big deal, but at the time, there was NO way to set up a static IP address for devices aside from setting up a port forwarding rule, which kind of breaks the idea of a router if I have to open ports to get a static IP,
that is, when the device reconnected, it still had a dynamic address

Otherwise the noticeable drop in download speed is a big negative
Bottom line: still evaluating but the drop in download speed is a BIG ISSUE
My internet connection drops, the light ring on the router turns orange, and a power-off reboot of the router is required several times a week... never an issue with my old router

It seems to slow down sites considerably, perhaps scanning content as it is streaming
I had a few CORE alerts that my computer had attempted to contact suspicious sites and these were blocked.
Well, started with a site here and there, would refuse to load, sites that I use on a daily basis, now if the Core decided to block a site would be a prompt on the screen informing you that the site was blocked, with an option to override
The site was working great on my computer for about an hour
Since using, I've loved the abilities to see all of the devices on my network, block malicious sites, create guest networks and use a very streamlined and polished app to manage everything

They did all connect with the Core, but then I couldn't get the static IP part to work, so I backed everything out again and gave up
In our case, we have cameras (for security, as well as for keeping an eye on the dogs when we are away), as well as a camera server, all of which require static IP addresses
