The printer works fine with a USB cable that you can find for $3 at Walmart (or $24 at Best Buy)

I suspect that ink will be expensive, but the purchase price for all the capabilities and Canon quality makes it a good buy for me.

There are better printers out there for a better price.

Much of my decision was based on ratings as well as whether or not the ink distributor I work for can get the ink jet refills for a cheap price

The sad thing is that the cartridges with paint are extremely expensive (almost the price of the printer or even higher) and after printing 20 pages, mostly B/W the printer is showing that cartridge needs to be replaced

Good value for money, can travel with and use once you have wifi connection.

So, for the money, its a great value printer, just know if you are using Microsoft Windows, you are going to have to keep it plugged into the USB port if you want to print from your Windows PC

As soon as I loaded the printer software, i got a bunch of new icons on my screen, unwanted advertisements, offers, and a bunch of other unwanted features that seemed to bog down my computer

Color and black and white print very well and it connects to my laptop through WiFi.

Easy to set up and happy with it but the top is not red like the rest of it rather a burnt red color so that was a little disappointing

Prints slowly, but of adequate color quality, and decently in monochrome/black. THe bundled iOS app sucks, but at least allowed me to set up the wifi in the end.

This printer USPS did a VERY poor job of delivery and also right out of the box it was

I went with Canon because my previous printer was a Canon & worked great

The first few days were extremely frustrating, but after installing it and removing the program a couple of times, it finally worked and has been working well since then.

Scanner inoperable as it requires a WIA driver that can't be found nor installed.

The image quality of the printer is spot on, the scanner is amazing for the price, and the set up was a little strange

Scanner works well but is not as easy to adjust settings as the older models, but that is a software issue and not the printer's fault.

Scanner is a little slow, it takes about 25 seconds to scan a photo, but it's hassle free which is something that lacked with my previous low end printers.

It'll print, but its scanner will quit working after a few weeks

Considering this has wasted a good 10 envelopes that are colored and specialty printed I'm wasting money- time and frustration.

The only downside is expensive cartridges, but then all cartridges are expensive!

I had a PIXMA MP250 that worked great until the cartridges became too expensive.

Good for the price and the best thing I can print everything from my iPhone!

..the only bad thing on the product is that doesn't come with the cable..but out of that everything is excellent

So, you dismantle the obstinate little thing, and try again, praying to the printer gods that it knows what paper is still (it doesn't)

Sometimes it would drag in several sheets of paper as it fed one in and tghen another jam

It also jammed the first sheet pretty bad but then it worked fine after that

If the massive ink use isn't enough of a problem it's now having problems feeding paper unless you jam it full with like 40-50 sheets

If hitting "print" after loading paper for a basic print job is what you expect then you're clearly not adventurous enough for this fine piece of machinery.

Rather, as other reviews indicate, this printer is a cheaply made piece of garbage incapable of accomplishing even the most minor tasks and makes the printer from Office Space look like something belonging to Tony Stark

The only downside with Canon, along with I assume all other major printer brands, is that ink is expensive

I bought another, because I already had some ink cartridges worth more than the printer

It goes through ink ridiculously fast and the ink is expensive

It was better to spend a small amount on the printer than throw away expensive ink.

I have never had a printer with so many paper jam issues

However the printer still believes there is a paper jam and won't print.

Literally every time I print something, I have to fix at least one paper jam

It works fine, but I would have expected a cable to hard wire it to one computer

However, like all my past printers, I wanted the hard-wire by USB the main laptop and have all the others run from wifi like all my past printers Epsons, Brothers etc.

BUT, you can only do 1 by hard-wire OR wifi and not both simultaneously.
