Smooth G-Sync and great refresh rate, color and picture look amazing
I'm left wondering if I should have bought a cheaper gaming monitor and kept using my old Dell for photos.
Smooth G-Sync and great refresh rate, color and picture look amazing
The only negatives I haveWith some brief google searching, it appears to be a known issue among AW users with the AW software to adjust lighting via the desktop application
I'm not a competitive gamer, but the G-SYNC implementation and 120 Hz refresh rate make for a smooth gaming experience.- The curve is good for immersive FPS gaming.- Out of the box color
The built in cable managment is awesome, the display is crisp and beautiful, and the viewing angels are amazing
This Alienware checks all the boxes and is an incredible display
It's a very bright display has to be around 450 nits Max brightness
Very good display for gaming, business & content creation.
But it lacks HDMI 2.1 or 2.0 and the backlight glow is horrible, no support form Dell with applciations like Display Manager which is not handy for professional use
The following calibrations are a compromise to get a great gaming experience even in a well lit room but still have an acceptable color accuracy
I'm glad I did, because the experience is incomparable to a typical 16:9 viewing ratio

It is the nicest screen and immersive experience I have ever had and it serves as an ideal workstation - haven't gotten to play games on it
Nvidia video cards recently allowed G-Sync functionality on all monitors, but if the monitor isn't fast enough, you'll get a poor experience.
It is either poor quality control or lowering the brand standard.

The build quality is very sturdy and everything is easy to assemble
The picture and color quality are amazing for the price point
The build quality is amazing and the packaging was something to behold

This monitor is amazing, the build is very solid and the image and color gamut is very, very impressive
The cost is hefty but this monitor has amazing built quality and love the lights on the bottom and back of the monitor
Comments 1 month after purchase:Excellent build quality, minimal bezels
If you manage to get an Alienware that has no IPS glow, go for it, for I will miss the build of that monitor
The most common complaints were about "light bleed" (which happens when the back light of an IPS panel "bleeds" out from the bezel of the screen while the screen is dark)
As my back grounds changed the darker the screen the more prominent the lines, the lighter same lines
Love how it helps productivity and just an amazing screen for gaming
120 vs. 75 in a game that can push out that frame rate is an extremely subtle difference from what I've seen, and most games I play are full screen with all of the graphics settings pegged at maximum, and even the 1080Ti struggles to maintain 60 fps in a game like ESO with those settings
This screen is one of the best screens that i have ever used!!!!
If you can afford this thing, you won't be disappointed.
I also loved the USB availability - this thing has, like, six USB ports that you can daisychain off one upstream USB plugged into the computer - love it
It might take some time to adjust your eyes but man does this thing look beautiful
At that point, I realized that it wasn't just the saturation that was making things look crazy, there was also a significant red hue that was very unnatural looking
Smooth G-Sync and great refresh rate, color and picture look amazing
Overall I am happy with the AW3420DW for the significantly better build quality, as well as having a dedicated G-SYNC module for the more graphically intensive games I play where frame rate can fluctuate more.
Initially I noticed terrible screen tearing when playing Control and Resident Evil 2 at max setting but this is because the monitor comes set at 60hz refresh rate out of the box
Jedi Fallen order with my previous 4K monitor with no G-sync, and saw irritating frame tearing a lot.

This monitor blew my mind
The upgrade blew my mind
