wireless setup up easy ( as long as you have your password correct!!)

The setup is not nearly as intuitive as the Canons that I've used in the past

The setup was much easier than any other wireless printer that I have had

Setup was easy and I have had no issues with wireless printing or scanning from windows or android

Overall, the compact size, easy setup, reasonable price, excellent print quality (said to be long lasting due to Claria inks - provided the right Epson paper is used), quality scanning and copying makes this an excellent evolutionary product in the Epson line

Last printer was an Epson XP-950, and when print quality started declining and I tried to fix myself unsuccessfully with head cleanings and alignments, I called Epson tech support, went through the process, spent an hour plus having them basically tell me to clean the print head 3 times and if that doesn't solve it...call back tomorrow and do the same thing.

Next day, I call, they tell me clean print head blah blah

Constant banding issues, ink cartridges that never wanted to align, and a need to clean the heads so frequently that it wasted as much ink as it used for actual printing

Spend an hour and a half between two phone calls and 4 tech support/return personnel, they have me do the same testing and head cleaning.

I have cleaned the heads and aligned them but photos are still terrible

does a great job with my dvd's scanning and printing.. it doesn't like the aquiace glossy dvd's but does beautifully on all others

For a 4 in 1 printer it does a good job on pictures, and is terrific printing B&W docs effortlessly via Bluetooth.

The scan quality is very good, and when you scan photos it does a very good job of cropping the photo properly.

it did a great job with several pieces of artwork (the color wasn't perfect, but it was okay) and it works well as a compact copy machine, as well

If the tech support did a more thorough job, maybe the problem could've been isolated to a $20 item instead of a $180 item.

If you are looking for some serious quality photos, with nice highs and lows, a vivid sharp text, then this is definitely for you (hi def)

Printing word documents and e-mails yielded sharp and clear text at about 7 to 8 pages per minute - not bad

Overall, when printing documents, the XP-960 produces clean, crisp text and vibrant colors at a nice, quick speed - and it can do it two sided

The XP-960 prints sharp, clear text, even in small fonts

All Epson printers create good quality photos, and the XP-960 is no different

They don't care, but after explaining over and over that I only bought the printer because the tech support told me mine was defective when it might not have been, they consulted with their "higher ups" and give me the message that they are willing to make a "one-time exception" and refund my printer

The tech support didn't even mention replacing ink cartridges, so the new printer could've been purchased under false pretenses of a defective printer made up by Epson tech support doing poor diagnosis of their product.

Tech support is nasty and not helpful to the point of LYING to me saying there is no return policy on this printer which I bought in early August.

Getting good photos prints took some doing, my photos were smeared, unusable

This is a printer you want if you are a professional photographer, or for your home if you want to print great photos of your kids.

Epson printers prove to be the best in the market, especially for printing beautiful photos

I use an Epson 3880 (big, expensive) photo printer for all my professional-quality work

I had Epson Artisan 50; good color photos, used generic cartridges, after telling printer I had bought cartridges already.

and on photo paper, looks about 90% as good as if I had them printed from an outside source.

An option for the flatbed scanner is to scan to an SD (or MS or CF) card, as well as to printer, computer file, or Cloud.

Add a nice scanner and you've got a good option for a small office printer

Neither of these is in my office as they have been replaced by this faster and better scanner and copier - did I mention the copier does color

The print function works fine, but the scanner is ALWAYS a problem

They also have some cool features like being able to print and even do simple "photoshopping" without a computer

The feature where I can remotely print to this printer from anywhere is amazing.

I like the extra large tray feature, but have to calibrate settings every time to use it.

It is a neat feature to print 11x17 prints if you do not need something as large as a 13x19.

You can also print on "printable" CDs and DVDs - a very useful feature if you share family photos

By default the colors on photos are actually really bad, I had to make custom profiles to get the best colors out

I originally gave this printer 5 stars because it was easy to set up and had excellent print quality

After a few prints all the prints went totally muddy and were literally horrific.

I highly recommend this printer for excellent quality color photo prints.

The ink is no longer available and I feel like Epson just stole $200 from me

When she runs out of ink I'm going to buy a cheap Epson for her (she doesn't need photo capability) and throw the HP away.

For those needing a printer I would recommend the Epson XP 960 highly without reservation.

but, Epson is a brand I come to know and trust for my printing needs, so that doesn't bother me especially if I am getting a featured packed printer.

Being a refurb, Epson doesn't do refunds and only offers replacement.

With this Epson, I can make a few changes, and then print just 10 flyers, for approximately $10 total--half for more expensive paper, half for ink costs.

The only issues I've run into, when I use the bypass tray in the back for printing 4x6 prints, sometimes the paper doesn't get grabbed, and you kinda have to push it in yourself.

Buy all the right ink, triple check all the right settings, use the right paper, and still watch as over $300 in printer/ink/supplies sits on your desk, completely useless

Combinations of paper jams, wireless communication errors, and other malfunctions will make a simple task take forever

This one has electronic sensors, and it easily fed the fine art paper I use.

Even if you're trying to print in black and white, and the brand new overpriced light cyan cartridge is saying it needs to be replaced, it won't let you print in black and white

I've felt pushed around by a giant since the moment when they had me waste brand new ink cartridges just so they could declare that the printer was defective, offer a paltry discount on a new printer that doesn't come close to bringing the price down to refurb prices from the same store, then refuse to budge on the discount despite 10 years of faithful Epson purchases (always continuing to use Epson products despite their failures every 1-2 years).I'm done.

My concern for this printer is that it does have a separate black ink cartridge for document printing like XP-830 all in one.

Not a problem if I felt it was empty, but as the page I printed previously came out good, I feel like there's still a lot more ink in there

Our only concern is that the printer is slower than our other epson, and the ink is very expensive, and doesn't last as long

Only complaint is one that I knew before the purchase - the ink is expensive.

It is pretty much designed to hold your printer hostage till you buy more expensive ink.
